wait, no, i'm thinking of mega man 8! i make this mistake a lot for some reason. it was the playstation one with the anime movies i never finished, which i always think is 9. the rest of the mainline mega man games i finished, but i definitely also used a huge pile of e-tanks and continues for the new retro ones.

Severed Steel, 100% achievements. This game whips rear end, its like a first-person Vanquish wuth Titanfall 2 movement and red faction destruction. unfortunately the campaign is only a couple hours long even the first time you play it, but props to any developer in 2021 that includes big head mode and paintball mode as unlockable cheats

Exo One. stunning visuals and great music, but the gameplay is a bit simplistic and the story loses some impact because all the dialogue is in simlish for some reason. excellent vibes though

Ghost of Tsushima (PS5) (main plot) - not sure anyone should bother making another 3rd person open world game after this, which is p much everything I want in one (except let me skip through dialogue in side quests, jesus). Feels like they asked around for what conveniences people want in a game and added all of them. Heard mixed stuff about DLC island but gonna give it a shot.

haha fantastic - those sounds must rapidly go off the wall :D That game sounds cool though - and yeah, big props to any dev that includes classic cheats/mutators like big head mode. The Red Faction destruction definitely sounds good, too

Circle of the Moon - Shooter Mode

Again, this was really fun and different, if a little one-note because there's an obvious best subweapon that gets buffed to hell by the mode (spoilers: it's not the axe or holy water). They also add a special new weapon, that being the magic dagger which you get by picking up a second dagger. It's actually weaker than the plain dagger, but homing.

I googled to see if there's anything else I was missing, but it's just that. I found at least two guides tho that claim the homing knife is the best weapon and that Shooter mode is by far the hardest, two statements that go together as a solid lol to me.

I also forgot that I made a video for Magician Mode:

Both modes are glass cannons which really owns

It's really drat fun but I get everyone who says "wtf is this poo poo" because it has some odd decisions for sure. If you cannot imagine double-tapping to start running, then the game will never be fun for you, for example. The magic system (hell, everything really) also heavily relies on drops, which are pretty drat rare and you don't know which enemies even drop the cards you need, something the collection thankfully indicates. Also, the game can be quite punishing, there's some stretches that are drat hard even on the main mode where you're a jack-of-all-trades, but are insane as Shooter because everything kills you in two hits by that point.

It's a strong rec tho, really neat game overall. Extremely confident design.

Shoot me a PM if you try it out but get stuck somewhere

Nintendo power had a supplemental issue with a huge guide for it that I read like sixteen times as a kid. It always looked cool but I didn’t get a gba for a few more years and got other stuff. Ultimately avoided bc I liked the aria style ones so much, but I’m a older wiser gamer now.
