So, assuming this is all a dream vision... the obvious test would have been to see if Snout, friendly nice person, was willing to stay with his friends and help them through their problems, instead of following up on the legacy stuff. Which he technically, in the barest sense, did, by writing that he was going to do it. But in the same vein, by suddenly loving swamp witch instead of making her help his friends or whatever his plan was, he definitely failed. Since Snout can't fail, this is not what is going on. On the other hand, Mookie clearly can't comprehend the idea that Snout might do anything even remotely lovely, even in a dream vision, so loving swamp witch was clearly the right choice, as it demonstrated his kindness or whatever. So now he will wake up from the vision, she will write down that he passed her test, she was also lying about all the bad things, Snout was the only one that passed his test, saving his friends off-screen, hooray, have some hint for your quests, they will go to the town and since they're all happy now instead of sad, all four of them will go fishing for fertilizer. This just reminded me of something in my old roleplaying group, where one of the characters was given a dream vision test that we all played out. The dm had originally thought about telling the rest of us what was going on and what our roles in the dream would be, so that only the player would have been left in the dark, but decided to see how things would play out instead. It worked really well, he knew our characters well enough that it mostly worked out the way he'd planned, and since the whole thing was really fast-paced, we never realized that the plot only followed one character and the rest of our scenes cut off when he left. In comparison, Snout's dream vision test involved walking, vegetables and people looking sad, as well as a totally important sex scene.
