 fun fact about the south korean publishing industry they just sell long books in individual pieces for exactly this reason well that and probably because its much easier to stock bookshelves if all the books are roughly the same size

Karamazov is written as like 10+ books I think, etc. And it wouldn't be so horrid if he bothered to have them properly re-bound, that's not unheard of either but that is monstrous work
