Certainly, there are aspects of conservative culture in both countries.

I'd guess that Urdu isn't even top 5 given how many languages India has and how Urdu is generally limited to the mountains.

The reason that restaurant chefs use sous vide for steaks is consistency and being able to get food out to order faster, not because it's better than sautéing then basting or baking the steak. The sous vide gets them to temperature, so all you need to do is quickly sear and send then out to customers. If you are cooking one batch of fancy steak there is no reason to sous vide.

There is nothing intrinsically magical about the experience of eating an extra-fatty cut of beef, of course everyone who hasn't built up an elaborate internal fantasy of themselves as the Steak Guy isn't approaching it with the degree of reverence he demands. Nobody else's problem you want to get a little pretentious over your little hobbies but maybe have the minimal self-awareness to understand you don't have the authority to force your friends to fetishize them the precise way you do. My understanding is that the “proper” waygu cooking method requires special charcoal that doesn’t smoke much. It’s “cooked” in small pieces at low temperatures so the outside has this melted fat flavor that’s almost like some uber fancy bacon but also rare outside with a raw inside. Ive had it once it was very very good. Expensive though. Worth trying once if you can find it. There is a justified element in being annoyed when someone butchers some kind of delicacy or insists on having it in a particular unique way that seems to defeat the point but this guy isn’t really justified in taking it a fraction of the length he does. Insisting on having A5 waygu well done or trying to microwave it is weird and should be made fun of, but so is freaking out about it like he does.

What's really dumb is you can find video of people cooking wagyu to well done or whatever and it still tastes good and because of all the fat is still reasonably juicy/pleasant. No of course it's not nearly as good as properly cooked but if there's one steak that can actually survive cooking to well done, that's it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW249cc4NhQ&t=559s

AITA for flipping out on my parents over yellow mustard and sour cream?quote:While my parents and older brother are generally ok people, they can be very thickheaded about some things. Ever since I was a little kid I didn't like sour cream or yellow mustard. The sour cream I can tolerate if it's already in something. But the yellow mustard I hate. Whenever it's put on or in something other than potato salad, it's all I can taste. My parents and brother love yellow mustard. And whenever my dad made hot dogs or burgers, he'd wanna sauce them for me. And I'd have to insist on doing it myself or I'd get them covered in mustard. Then he'd act disappointed when I couldn't eat them. And I tried. He and my mom would just say that my sense of taste would change as I got older. But it never did. At least in regards to yellow mustard. My brother even thought it funny to prank me with it a few times by taking a bottle of mustard and squirting me with it. His first job was in fast food as well, and he'd like to mustard my burgers every time I ate there while he was on shift. I kept complaining and that got him in trouble with his manager.

I mean, it's pretty rude to keep lacing someone's food with an ingredient because you want to prove they'll eventually 'like it'. Who the gently caress cares about if someone else likes yellow mustard or not enough to keep trying to 'whoopsie' them into surprise-liking it? What the gently caress is wrong with those parents.
