Ok so at 1:52 are those secondaries that pop off IEDs or mines in the ground? They definitely looks like explosives in the ground that get set off by the pummeling debris.

Nothing is 100%, but C-RAM has self-destroying rounds. And you program in cut-outs (like an apartment building) so the gun won't blast the poo poo out of things you don't want to destroy.

Scratch Monkey posted:https://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/fake-town-shughart-gordon-urban-warfare-training-facility/view/google/ If you Google "STANTA training ground" you'll find a place with a complete German and Afghan town in the middle of Norfolk. The German town was to train troops in urban warfare during WWII as it soon became clear that there was going to be a lot of it and that most Western Allied nations had no experience of it. Unlike all the Germans that had been redeployed from the Eastern Front. They had LOADS of experience of it. The Afghan one was set up to train soldiers and included Afghan nationals and ex-Gurkhas as civilians and insurgents and also had a troop of amputee ex-servicemen

LUBE UP YOUR BUTT posted:What's the dud rate on the self-destruct mechanisms? No idea what I'm looking at here. From context, is that two patriots or equivalent (they look like big boys?) and something smaller (or a lot farther away) trying to intercept something unseen, and all veering off course aiming for orbit? Are the booms impacts of whatever they didn't intercept or the booms from the launches?
|
# ? Jan 24, 2022 14:45 |

I thought the booms were the two missiles being intercepted by the system you can see what looks like tracers on, delayed by distance. But yeah it’s not really clear what’s happening. Second look it seems more like the missiles are interceptors.
