They played a clip from the early 2000s of Howard calling her a fat disgusting pig who probably had herpes and honestly it kind of shocked the poo poo out of me that he was that much of a piece of poo poo. I know a lot of the people here don't listen to him any more because he's "soft" now but there's no loving way I would be listening to him if that's the kind of person he is. She wasn't someone who was on the show to be evaluated, and she never did anything to him for him to say that. I don't think I've gone soft either; I still watch and listen to most of the stuff I grew up with and the 80s and 90s, but I always found being an rear end in a top hat towards people who weren't bothering anyone to be really low class. Oddly enough a few years ago my wife and I went out to dinner with her friend and my wife's friend's husband and he was telling us about how he was working on a roof and saw a car hit and kill a cat and how funny it was. It immediately turned me off to him (as did my wife) and I told her flat out I never want to hang out with him again. Side note: the guy is such a piece of poo poo he didn't show up to his own daughter's birthday because he went fishing with friends. I was there and he wasn't! lol. Anyways to be more on topic my unpopular opinion is the show is still pretty good. Not as good as the Artie/Howard News Team days, but it still gives me a lot of laughs (I legit belly laugh every time Greta Tuneberg comes on because it's always after they are talking about something perverted). "How dare you talk about King of All Blacks sniffing his wife's panties when the ozone layer is depleting at an alarming rate!!" gets me every time. I also love the Ronnie stuff. They still kinda do back office stuff which is what I love the most. Ronnie's reverse house was the best. edit: also I can listen to Steve Nowicki doing Alex Jones or Sal's dad 24/7. edit 2: somebody was asking about what happened to Stern Fan Network earlier and I just came across this on usenet: HTVOD - Super Fan Network Shut Down - 12-14-11 Apparently they discussed it on the show and it even made it to HowardTV. ProTip for any HowardTV fans (and fans of archiving in general), I had been looking all around the internet for any HowardTV episodes I could find and was coming up pretty blank. I hate the idea of lost media, on top of my love for the show, so I got pretty determined and after many hours I found a single usenet indexer that has them: nzbking.com I wound up with 1,802 episodes that downloaded which is amazing since many of them were uploaded 12+ years ago. It's a bit over 600GB, and I did weed out small stuff I'd never watch like an interview with Quentin Tarantino or something, but I am glad I have it now. I'm not sure why only this particular indexer has them, but it was a nice surprise. I doubt it's everything, but it's as close as I can get. Just figured I'd post this for anyone else who enjoys the show. It should be kosher because HTVOD is completely off the air and you couldn't pay for this stuff if you wanted to, so I don't really consider it piracy.

Memet still does some stuff, but he has gone very quiet in live stuff. Steve has his times but as much as people hate Chris Wilding, I actually think he is one of the better live personalities (impressions or otherwise) on the current show. Who is doing "Fun George" and Gary Bussy right now? Because while they over use him he is really loving good at impressions and unwritten content.

Basically you buy a usenet subscription (they can be had for as little as five bucks for month). Then you install a program called sabnzbdb, which is basically what downloads the files (kinda like torrent files except they are nzb files) and it downloads as soon as you open the nzb file. There's quite a few nzb websites, and for whatever reason, nzbking.com is the only one out of like ten that I found that has HTVOD episodes. The cool thing about usenet is you don't have to worry about seeders. As long as something was uploaded within the past 8-13 years (and not later), you will be able to download the videos. It's especially good for movies and TV shows, and I way prefer it to torrents because you don't need any seeders, and because you aren't uploading, you literally cannot get in trouble from your ISP. There's a program called Sonarr and Radarr that will download TV shows and movies for you automatically as soon as someone uploads them. Coupled with Plex and it's like your own personal Netflix where nothing ever gets pulled down due to licensing disputes or whatever the reason shows and movies get taken down from Netflix all the time. Go old school and get a newsreader program. That will let you point at the two groups those posts are in and will auto download and extract the data. Very clunky way to do it but its possible.

Even though I'm kind of old-school internet savvy, I never really used Usenet in any extended capacity. However, I have access to a folder with like 1.5 TB of Howard TV shows, E! shows, and Channel 9 shows. Might be the link that others have, dunno. Not gonna post it here in public though obviously (I don't know if even mentioning it is against the rules, if so I'll edit)

Hope you still have a 19" VewiSonic CRT monitor around for the full experience. Lots of old vintage amateur porn started as being distributed on Usenet. Guys posting Polaroids of their wives and even snaps from early digital cameras. WifeysWorld is one that stands out the most from back then. Most groups were moderated pretty well but its the internet and poo poo always goes sideways. Pretty much all the porn groups are spam anyway and I'm positive the different companies release to newsgroups to drive traffic back to their site. I found a ton of new music back in the day by just downloading headers of bands that sounded interesting. I'd love to go back to the old ways but the sheer volume of stuff that gets posted is too much for me to sort through. If your are a bootleg concert fan then usenet was THE place back in the day since it people had the ability to digitize and share.

Click on "merge nzbs" and it will download everything on that page in one shot. Just do it for each page, should be fairly quick. All I seem to be able to get from NZBKing is "Aborted, cannot be completed - missing articles". The Merge NZB button did a good job but I can't seem to download anything. Only a single video has finished successfully out of ~60GB of content lmao. I'm using SuperNews which was highly recommended by the Usenet thread in SH/SC but it can't seem to pull poo poo from NZBKing. I'm gonna gently caress around in Forte Agent and see if I can't figure some poo poo out e: I'm only getting headers back to mid-2020, despite clicking "Get All" in Agent and it going through 1mil+ while searching. So let's say NZBKing says it was posted 1200 days ago, you need a provider that has that matches or exceeds this in their retention policy. It's also possible that a DCMA request was sent to the providers who would have removed the content but not the headers, similar to a video posted on YouTube All usenet providers are owned by the same two or three parent companies so it happens. There's a usenet thread (or used to be) in SH/SC that the Goons there may be able to help.

There's a theory that Jason or some other back office employee browses the HSS forum there and puts in copyright violation notices to any YouTube content. There are also a few people who apparently tell people to PM them for content links and they CHARGE A FEE to give them out. Like, I had absolutely nothing to do with these archives, and the unnamed people who went to all the trouble to tape the show, digitize it, and share it deserve all the accolades in the world. Howard himself has horrible body image and ate nothing but plain baked potatoes and boiled turkey breast for years. I don't remember when they stopped doing it but it was a thing where women would call into the show and request the be "evaluated" by a panel of Ronnie, Ralph, etc. and went just about as well as you think it would. Overall I'm glad they stopped doing this. I don't know if Howard ever called Natalie fat (and she would have called him out on it imho) but ETM did says he was going to "gently caress her chubby butthole" if she didn't stop arguing with him.

Howard has a pretty severe case of body dysmorphia and projects that on to other people constantly. It makes me wonder as Robin has had weight issues her whole life and I think she is actually at her largest right now, so listening to Howard railing on people for not being stick thin must be odd.
