I always liked that speech he gave during one of the Australian Tours. "Every tour we have been on, there's always been on rear end in a top hat on it, and this tour of Australia all the other bands have been really cool and we have really enjoyed hanging out. I guess maybe that means we're the assholes."

Was this on the Tension tour when they had the backup singers?

This says it was August of 2013, so that would be the same era:

Here is another song from that Friday night.

The previous act on that specific stage was a Dutch hip-hop act called De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig ("Today's Youth"). That's a different vibe.

This was before they had the backup singers and pino on bass. The festival tour.

Festival tour was so dope. That show at Lolla was my first time ever seeing NIN. I lost my loving mind.

Fortunately the festival I saw them at in 2013 was on the Tension tour with the backup singers. Such an amazing show.

They were in my top 5 last year (and maybe the year before). I blame it on Ghosts. I listen to that action a lot while working, along with most of the other bleepity bloopers.

e: I'm not fond of their goofy layout, since it looks like the Nine Inch Nails track "Rat Poisoning" was my second favorite track of the year.

They were #1 for me and I think it's purely because of their extensive back catalog; no NIN song made it into my top 100 songs. I think I had a few days during the year where I played the whole back catalog from PHM through to The Slip over a few days, and otherwise just listened to the odd album here and there.

Favorite live Trent moments:

Telling the crowd to steal Year Zero since the record companies made CD prices too high.

Asking the crowd to meet the band at Denny's after the show at Light in the Sky tour (We drove by and Denny's was packed, no confirmation if the band showed up)

Calling Discipline "our gay disco single" at the same show

Spending an entire show visibly pissed about the sound quality (co-headline tour with Soundgarden in Mansfield MA, whole set sounded like muddled poo poo)

Finally getting to see A Warm Place live at Tension.

I'll forever find it funny that Trent Reznor's screen name on AOL was MTRez and his profile outright said he was Michael Trent Reznor. I'm sure there were 50 profiles that said the same thing so I doubt he got bothered that much.

He called me a "loving idiot" because I said I preferred Josh Freese's drum sound over Chris Vrenna once. It was in some like, small thread there were only three regular posters in as well which makes it even funnier because he must have spent a good amount of time just reading random stuff. It's like how TDS took so long to record because he kept playing Doom.
