My post was bad and I am sorry. How I read it was that it suddenly happened via the British Empire in relatively modern history. There are many historical examples of peoples/tribes/nation-states/empires using race, or their precursors or markers of a certain people (e.g. a Semite or a Gentile, et al) as justification for hatred or demonization and fear mongering. I do believe the British perhaps weaponized it best, but I think you are taking a Western centric view of it and ignoring, say, all of East and Mid Asian peoples since time immemorial. Which is why I said it might as well be the original sin. For the record, we CAN and SHOULD overcome it. Not accept it as a trait of the human condition.
