I mean, it’s hard to be logical about people whose actions are driven emotionally or by illogical foundations but still. I guess it’ll depend on if the Pfizer treatment pill is politicized or not.

Same. Much as I enjoyed at least the 1st film, and Keanu, and years later learning that it was all a trans-allegory and enjoying the 1st film all over again. I just can't seem to care about this one. I'll probably ignore all the hype / criticism on it because everyone makes everything new "a thing" and check it out somewhere down the line tho.

If it’s good then I’ll enjoy it, if it’s not good then maybe I’ll enjoy parts of it and maybe I won’t, none of us paid out of pocket to create this movie so it’s fine for things to be how they’re going to be Don’t preorder games either

Playin' the hits. The Wachowskis are just bringing an old horse out to pasture to see if it has one last run before they put it down. The movie will make tons of money and they'll ram out another one. I'll catch this one when it turns up on TBS or TNT probably in '23. But Keanu is fun to watch in interviews. E: Fallout 76 taught me the valuable lesson of not preordering. It was so loving bad. I wasn't dumb enough to buy the canvas bag special edition that was a straight up bait and switch. Yeah, when I first saw Matrix it was amazing but upon rewatch it is still very good but doesn't have the same impact, especially knowing the grand mysterious plot was going nowhere. Reloaded was ok for a summer film but Revolutions came out when I was in college and some friends were super hyped and rewatched the first two before heading to the theater, then afterwards didn't want to talk about it.

I'm sure a marketing company knows how much ad space is needed and the associated costs, but I wonder how much it would cost to inject the ads into the actual broadcasts. I know local stations (and every morning show by the looks of it) are notorious for doing this. Even if the cost was a billion dollars, wouldn't that be a net positive?

They were worried about the backlash interfering with their actual fascist takeover plans.

Climate change has destabilized the Earth’s poles, putting the rest of the planet in peril
New research shows how rising temperatures have irreversibly altered both the Arctic and Antarctic. Ripple effects will be felt around the globe. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2021/12/14/climate-change-arctic-antarctic-poles/ I’m pretty sure this is a plot point in Damnation Alley.

The magnetic poles, as in the things compasses respond to and that generate earth's magnetic field, switch every few hundred thousand years (from memory) due to ongoing processes in the planetary core that are not understood yet to the best of my recollection. The weather poles, as in where the cold air is/stays, are 1000% straight hosed and it's due to man-made climate change destabilizing the atmosphere.

I just always remember the polls being damaged or flipping usually being a plot point/trope only in post apocalyptic fiction or sci-if thrillers. The infamous "magnetic pole shift" is the prepper wet dream. They believe that when the magnetic poles "flip" (north will be south, south will be magnetic north) that great catastrophe will occur. They also belief that stockpiling food, water, medicine, and guns/ammo will save them from this "extinction level event." A polar shift can make things annoying. It will likely have an effect on weather and the ozone layer. It won't be the final nail in out coffin though. Here is a good article explaining what is happening now, what has happened in the past, and what will likely happen in the future: https://www.livescience.com/18426-earth-magnetic-poles-flip.html
