So, canonically, wasn't the Kami War in Kamigawa like 1000 years before anything else in the Magic timeline? It's pretty unlikely that we'll see any named characters. IIRC most of the named characters died in the war, or were mortal

I have 3-4 decks that have been close to completion for years. They have all taken on a theme where a Kamigawa sequel will likely fill in the gaps. Don't disappoint me, Neon Dynasty.

I saw some of the art from the upcoming LOTR set at a Christmas party. It looks pretty cool. I don’t know anything of the actual card texts though. He just said that they gave him some notes and art direction etc.

They are almost certainly not doing any arcane spells, they would rather do splice onto instant/sorcery instead bc of how dreadfully samey arcane decks look But there will probably be new ninjas at least.
