Once Stung was a staple of the bad webcomics thread and owns. Sure, maybe it's fetish material, but at least it's weird and horrifying in a not overtly despicable way like MoJ or Snout's Spicy Saturdays.

This whole chapter is incredibly vile. I think this moment just made me hate this worse than the Elf War from Star Power. It's not as immediate a reaction, but the more I think about it the more it disgusts me. There's just SO many things wrong, from the contrived situation, to Snout's bizarre choices, to the incredibly inconsistent characterization, and of course the gross sex Mookie definitely traced from porn. It just all leaves an awful taste in my mouth, and I think it's my personal choice for worst writing from Mookie.

The idea that they aren’t angry and in fact are proud of Snout as a good sex-having boy is just so absolutely atrocious, especially because the fact that they aren’t angry doesn’t change the fact that Snout still completely did an aboutface on his moral stand because he had a chance for nookie. That’s a personal failure of will and morality, not some subjective “it’s bad because your friends are unhappy with you” thing. Jesus, it never cease to amaze me that the main part of this comic that is ‘fantasy’ Isn’t magic or orcs or ink space ships, it’s that the protagonist is always right and justified and a good soft boy

I know the handwriting is very slightly different between characters so theoretically I should be able to learn who said that, but that's more effort than this comic deserves. I'm gonna assume the most logical, least problematic option that it's Arudak. That's still kinda weird of him to say both to a non-orc and in mixed company (I'm not sure if i could call him friends with IW just yet, and definitely not with Kaianda since they haven't interacted much) Also holy poo poo this is just complete aversion to any kind of conflict or even just some different personalities between characters. Maybe one of them could be immediately forgiving and congratulatory, but someone might go "we thought something bad happened to you, why couldn't you at least tell us you were going somewhere!?" or "wait, so you slept with someone you thought was hurting us?" and it leads to some bickering of if any of it really matters. It doesn't have to be a huge fight and they can all forgive Snout in the end, but just maybe Snout could have been held responsible for his actions for more than two seconds? His supposed flaw of making bad decisions when horny doesn't mean much if it doesn't have consequences! There's also how they go on about how they've burdened poor Snout and he deserves some time off from them, and also if it'll make him happy they can go fishing? There are several ways to read the relationship dynamics here and none of them are headed for a healthy place. I don't want to call it codependency because I'm not sure if that's the right term for it, but this feels like the trio going out of their way to appease Snout, even if it means pushing aside their own wants and feelings, so he won't leave them ever again. Maybe Friday will have Snout ask "are you sure you're all okay, let's talk about this some more", but it feels more likely to end in a group hug and/or a feel-good panel of them all fishing.

It's a "Dear Pevnthouse Forum" letter that ends with "and then they all stood up and clapped". Like it's such transparent wish fulfillment that if Mookie was a remotely better writer it's all so over the top you might suspect that it's all a fakeout and Snout's still having a vision and it's just the Dream Realm or whatever playing off Snout's insecurities, selfishness, and hubris. But if Mookie was a better writer we wouldn't be here in the first place.

Wow, no one could possibly have predicted that this would end with everyone patting Snout on the head and telling him he is the goodest of the good boys. I love how when Snout feels bad everyone rushes to comfort him. But when they feel depressed they all just need to get over it and rush to comfort him for making him feel bad. Seriously, not only does their messages to him bounce back and forth between, "Don't you worry slugger mom and dad will take you fishing!" and "Way too gently caress that orc!" But they all but apologize for feeling bad in the first place. Like, a vine clone who didn't exist a few days...weeks? ago and has insecurities about her very soul just needs to toughen up sunshine, but Snout who feels bad because he's not the one who gets to help his friend needs comforting and reminding that he's great.
