But man. Time limit draws don't prove anything? They prove lots of things if you loving pay attention, like "underdog/local hero can hang with the champion", which clearly elevates someone, see Joe vs Punk I, or probably 90% of NWA World Champion travelling the territories matches in the 70s & 80s. It can simply prove that these two guys are so loving close together in quality that you can't fit a cigarette paper between them, that still proves SOMETHING. And then you can do a rematch down the line & the result is in doubt because holy poo poo they were close together last time! And that can be a match with a stip to ensure there is a finish, like an Iron Man match or No Time Limits like what happened with Joe vs Punk III, where because their previous 2 encounters went the distance the 3rd match had no time limit & it ended up only going 30 minutes. Wrestling isn't hard. In fact it's the obvious, it's meant to be super easy for dumb loving yokel marks to understand. And yet it seems too complex for modern fans who are apparently "smart" to how the business works.

I'd say its probably the OP just struggling with their personal frustration at the lack of a cathartic ending, especially with a match that long and with that much build. It does "prove" and "set up" stuff. But its lacking that resolution we tend to seek and get from stories.

Danielson has been taunting a lot in his matches so him losing because he was too busy taunting is a good idea. Maybe even right at the start of the match, to show that he was too distracted. Like he's turned to taunt and then comes back around right into someone's finisher. Maybe he could even lose in 18 seconds

What they should have done is have Danielson's pants fall down, while he shouts "oh no my weewee!" while he pisses himself. Also, Hangman is renamed "Dickfuck" and they trade wins, while looking worse each week. Also, the commentators need to scream and holler at each other, over super important details like "Bryan Danielson's shoe size" and "the name of Page's horse, if he rode out to the ring on a horse like a cowboy Bikertaker," while ignoring the match. I don't see how this won't get anyone over. Hire me and make me head of creative, Coward Vince.
