Not gonna lie, I laughed the hardest I have in a while yesterday when I listened to the 12/13 show and he was asking "Greta Thunberg" random questions. The one that got me the most was when he asked her what her favorite food is and she said "acorns".

I guess this is a different strokes thing, because I think the Greta stuff is awful and that was kind of the last straw for me. On the flipside, I think the Dr Now stuff is oddly funny even though I have no idea who the guy is (it's just a funny voice). Either way, I finally cancelled my account as the show only being on for the half the year and half of that is talking about reality TV at this point. I'll just get some highlights from social media or something and rejoin in a few years when he is doing his final lap.

Yeah it's definitely a different strokes thing. I never thought Gilbert Godfried was funny on the show (which is blasphemous to most Stern fans), and that's coming from someone (me) who thinks he's an amazing standup comedian.

I think Gilbert's impressions of people no one thinks about (Charlie Chaplin when he was elderly, stupid Dracula) was hilarious, but otherwise he would just riff racial slurs with Artie until Howard would get uncomfortable and it was very cringey.

I just realized something I miss about the show and it just popped up into my head this second. Stern used to have guests on all the time who were big fans of the show, and I loved it when they were on (and I typically hate interviews). Jerry O'Connell, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonah Hill, Ryan Phillipe to name a few. I liked them on the show because they were fans so they'd always ask questions I'd want to know the answers to, and he would answer them. I legit loved how he would have Jerry O'Connell on for literally no reason (he wasn't promoting anything) and you'd learn something like his mom being Beetlejuice's special ed teacher. Or Ryan Phillipe offering to take JD to hang out because he's such a fan of the show he'd actually have JD over his house and report back what it was like. Considering he's such a star fucker and loves having his rear end kissed, plus his new ridiculous love for interviews, I'm surprised he stopped having them on.

I remember I had a subscription to some tech magazine and one of the issues on the spine said "Welcome to the Mac-hine" on it like a month after that happened on the show.

Years ago, I posted a Photoshop or somethingan image of my wife's journal from when she was in high school, with the words Rage Against the Mac-hine on the cover (the word was already split just like that), and I think someone here quoted me asking what it was.

On the opposite side, some classic bits are made from good drops.

Zero... point... zero.

Though I can't think of any others.

Yeah it's not all the time but there are definitely clips I listen to where he'll play like, the sound of a phone ringing over and over and over and over which just adds nothing to what's going on

Well, to be fair, she (and I) were in high school in the late 90s. The journal I found was at her parents' place, in a closet of old stuff.

Does that help?

This old clip got a genuine spit take out of me. I could listen to the Martlings getting their balls broken all day long.

Nancy: "What have I been doing for the last 15 years?"
Howard: "Leeching off of Jackie?"

"I get to choose which 18 hours a day I work" is hands down the funniest thing I've ever heard on the show

I saw the video of ETA meeting Diana deGarmo and legit almost cried. What a sweet moment, even if he kind of ruined it by being a little creepass afterward. :unsmith:

That was the first time I saw Diana deGarmo outside of her not-particularly-flattering Wikipedia picture, and she just seemed so average. It felt like the first time I saw Nancy Sirianni. Eric was so absolutely obsessed with her that I expected her to be this amazingly beautiful vixen, and then she was just kind of...there. At the very least I expected her to have gigantic tits, since Eric was so into that.

haljordan posted:

And yet, I agree with them both. The cawing when Marianne from Brooklyn calls in and the Muttley-wheezing when they busted Artie's balls for laughing at his own jokes are the two prime examples.

edit:
