Something I've always found interesting about the Hammarskjold plane crash is related to an episode of Mayday / Air Crash Investigation, a great TV show for those who like disaster docs. The show has never really been available on major streaming services so there's been a pretty dedicated community over the years that uploads the episodes to video sharing sites, but for some reason their episode on it has always been mysteriously unavailable everywhere despite pretty much every other episode being easily locatable. Now, I have seen the episode in question and they present a plausible alternative to the shootdown theory, but they do spend quite a bit of time discussing the shootdown theory itself and who wanted Hammarskjold dead. I haven't done enough research myself to say for sure what I believe, but they do make it expressly clear that there were groups willing and able to shoot down his plane and that Hammarskjold knew it and took precautions against it. So even if, at the end of the day, Hammarskjold wasn't killed directly by a shootdown, the threat of the shootdown itself directly led to his death by requiring the pilots to fly in a much riskier way.

The entirety of the Congo crisis is pretty gripping cold war intrigue and horrible war crimes. They were due this year to repatriate a tooth that once belonged to Patrice Lumumba, who was assassinated in 1961 and dissolved in lye. However, one Belgian merc decided to take a trophy. Ghouls all of them. But the story of Che's trip to Congo is pretty funny/horrible
