I assume they called it incomplete because he caught it, then started bringing it in against his chest while falling instead of just holding it where he caught it. Definitely looks like a bobble as he's falling out, but I'd say it's purposeful movement on his part that just looks like it was bouncing around.

My guess is because Roman is wedded to the idea that the best Ravens offense is a running one with deep passes emphazing Lamar's own running ability. That was true when we had an offensive line that could run or pass block well. Now, because of that huge weakness on the line, quick passing is the obvious way to go. Especially since our pass catching options in Andrews, Bateman, Proche, Duvernay, Brown are actually really good. There is the additional pressure to play ball control offense with our struggling defense too. Quick passing means quick usually means quick offensive possessions. Which in turn means less rest and more snaps for your defense. That's kind of a problem when your defense is as injured and old as ours. Still no excuse, just another consideration. Hopefully this gets ironed out into a more well rounded and healthy team next year.
