There's something to be said for preserving old works in the mediums they were designed to be interacted with. You can emulate most Gameboy games (important to remember it's not all) but that isn't the platform they were developed to be played on.

The table doesn't really matter, but the overall attitude that old media and tech is absolutely disposable isn't great. No, being able to play the Gameboy color port of Fester's Quest isn't important to society, but preservation efforts are a good thing.

Except he's not disposing of the gameboys, he's made them into a table.

Let's not pretend game boys are some rare commodity, they made ~120 million of them.

I found out about those foam DIY furniture from this video which also showcased a few more terrible decor ideas including making a completely tiled side table (to break your floor with its weight presumably), acrylic coffee tables and one of the most pointless things i've seen, a "pot filler"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEQZycMDXH4

"I get what you're going for with spraying furniture with foam... but ultimately, you're going to end up with furniture you sprayed with foam."

the last bit of this video also talks about what may be the new trend of Live Love Laugh which is #girlboss and #hustlebro decor and they are equally as horrific

When it's dark, and especially when it's raining and the roads are full of reflections, I cannot for the life of me see the lane markings. They are far dimmer than any of the reflected lights, and the only way I can glimpse them at all is if I veer slightly to one side and can see that some of the barely-visible yellow or white parts are moving differently than the blindingly white reflected lights.

I have sort of the same thing, I think some people are just more sensitive to light. This means I can walk around without a light when it's real dark outside, but I hate driving in the dark because all the lights are just blinding to me.

As a comrade astigmatic-haver, the blurriness is easily solved with glasses/contacts. It's lights and poo poo that gently caress you. So much as the loving moon at night, I get double vision with my glasses on. Two moons.

I saw an art installation as a kid where a guy was carving big blocks of furniture foam into furniture itself, and then coating it in neon colored caulking to give it sort of sculpted muppet-fur fluffy look. Entire rooms with every detail made out like it was from another dimension. Cool stuff, and it was a working exhibition so you could see him making the pieces on site if you were there at the right time. Wish I could find pics of it, but this was like 35 years ago. Guy could be dead by now.

Stank to high hell though, that caulking smell of ammonia and beach at low-tide.
