I want to get an OLED to replace my launch switch that makes a whirring noise for the first five minutes after I turn it on (or whenever I turn it sideways) but ugh can't justify that money. Wish places would still let you trade in your old model to get the new one for $150 or whatever.

oh poo poo the modern version of the game I used to play cross faded as poo poo at a friend's house all the time is on switch - marble it up! cross fade gives you a 1:1 connection with the marb

Man, it's crazy how late into Pikmin 3 you find and can use blue pikmin. I beat the story on hard last night, looking forward to all of the side content, and replaying it all on Ultra-Spicy.

I recent bought Hat in Time on the Switch and I've been pretty disappointed by the graphics, a lot of the textures are so degraded that text is difficult to read and large images are really blurry, at least in docked mode. Is there any way to help with this?

The colors seriously pop, and there's so much depth in the visuals in some of the newer games on the OLED screen. This is going to sound like a joke, but the Dragon Ball game on there was really impressive. The color on the gis are incredible. Older games won't show it as much though. So keep that in mind. The battery life also feels like almost triple what my model 1 has. I don't know about selling it for $300. But definitely don't give it to a gamestop or something. They'll never give you anything near what it's worth, no mater what the second hand market gives you.

I had no idea, and ebay makes it look like between $250 and $300 is pretty standard. I'm not sure how often they pop up on SA Mart, but if I end up with an OLED in front of me in a store, I might be take a notion to upgrade.

Yeah same, but I just have to accept that I am "done" playing Splatoon 2 in any real sense Losing 4xS+ and all the gear is sad :/

I am a big fan of Switch games that allow you to use the SNES controller as a viable control method, which Pokemon Brilliant Diamond does. Therefor, Pokémon Diamond is a good game.

Any of ya'll played Steamworld Quest? I picked it up in the current sale and I'm in Chapter 11, about 5 hours in. It's...fine? The dialog is trying very hard to be funny and irreverent but it falls entirely flat for me. The combat is sort of fun but even on the highest difficulty it's so easy that I haven't had to change my basic strategy I've been using since the first chapter. I have barely touched the card crafting system and I haven't used any of the additional party members because the basic three are already so good. I am hoping the later chapters will require some rethinking of my decks and party composition. But unfortunately, the upgrade and exp system reward using the same cards and party members and discourage changing anything around. It's a pretty glaring design flaw.

I will go the mat over both Dig games, but Heist was just OK for me and I've bounced hard off Quest twice. The combat system was just sort of a rehash of the "build/spend combo points" thing we've seen a million times, which isn't so bad when it's one character in the party, but the whole system built around it was a drag. I think I made it 8 hours in and started falling asleep playing, which is usually my cue to move on.
