I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

Get off the internet and show up to boring rear end local meetings to provide a counterweight to these shitstains. It ain't much, but its better than typing into the void.

Yup, that's about it really. School boards aren't exactly full of people that react well to getting yelled at, so a group of 30-50 protestors talking about luciferase and vaccines killing kids will probably get them scared enough to defer things.

Also, it appears that Elizabeth Holmes got an America-rear end verdict - nothing guilty related to hosed-over patients, guilty on conspiracy/wire fraud charges against the Theranos investors.

I'm part of an adhoc blue group in a +20 red county whose school boards are targeted by Bannonites, including one of the shittiest people to ever run for senate. We have been able to provide puahback and actually get the board to make some decent decisions by showing up in numbers, being polite, and actually being from the district.

When the other side is yelling at them about being swayed by Satan and the Bible saying masks are wrong and you get up there and discuss CDC findings in a calm voice, it shows the board that not all of their voters are these screaming morons.

Yea, I'm not sure if there's any other game to play than just stare down each other. Although it always makes me wonder if Ukraine squirrelled one or two nukes away just in case Russia went full on existential warfare on them.

Thats a basic game theory again. If two parties continue to escalate eventually you arrive at one possible conclusion. If one of them takes an off ramp and just doesn't engage the rational choice for the second party is also to de escalate as they have noone to play off and escalation will hurt them as well or something. I'm not a game theory expert.

This, of course, assumes rationality and requires understanding your opponent though.

Escalation leads to one finite point which makes both parties worse off, although some actors may make temporary gains or something. Giving in would make you worse off and would be a bad choice but the other party would be better off, it also leads to worries about future engagements/appeasement. Ignoring it is also a choice as that tweet pointed out, it removes legitimacy from the other party and makes it harder for them to escalate, this maintains the status quo or de escalates.

I feel like we probably would have been treated to the sight of multiple law enforcement officers being torn apart by the crowd and it being streamed on facebook and youtube, followed by the same thing happening to both houses of congress.

Edit: remember though, Newsweek is a trash tier media outlet now.

Yeah you really gotta evaluate anything in New Newsweek by the individual author and this guy's career is... weird to say the least. Writes an acclaimed book about the overreach of the national security state and worked on anti-nuclear stuff with Greenpeace and Human Rights Watch in the 80s and 90s but also keeps working for CIA and DOD as a consultant and teaching at the War College.

Seems credible but the question is who wants the story out there and why now

Nah, China is still our biggest geopolitical rival. They're the only nation-state which can actually replace America as the predominant global power - and they're working on it. Russia is no longer capable of being anything but a regional thorn in everyone's side. Just like Islamic terror groups, they can drag us down if we choose to let them but they can't actually challenge our position.

That's the kind of ice-pack that if you didn't adequately salt/brine the roads beforehand, you're really hosed. Salt might eat the hell out of cars, but you're not going anywhere on an interstate when it's not snow anymore, but compacted ice.

I feel so bad for those people. poo poo like that is why I have an emergency car kit, a wool blanket, plus a bug out bag with Under Armor Cold Gear leggings and undershirt plus other poo poo. I also have water in a double walled bottle so it won't freeze, a box of granola bars, an MRE, and trail mix in the bag. I once had to spend 4 and a half hrs driving home from what would've usually been a 20 minute commute. Never again will I be unprepared for that poo poo.

I also want to get an auxiliary fuel tank to beef up my preparedness. Expensive but worth it to me.
