Walked 9km in the rain across brizzy today and felt good. Then the rain stopped. Soupy and gross. Ran the aircon when i found the cat lying on her back on the kitchen tiles. Shes fine just hot. A persian in qld summer.

I have travelled from Bathurst to Sydney and back for years. Every time I did I would stop in this little town called Hartley that has this amazing lollie shop. It carried pretty much every candy I remember from back in the US and around the world. A lightning bolt struck it last night  Genuinely sad about this. it was a cream p1800 that sat out the front of one of the businesses on the west side but up from the lolly shop it was there from the mid 70s to maybe early 2000s as someone's daily driver beautiful car

That reminds that I need to go to Officeworks and the drive to Bathurst is so drat scenic.

Celebrated my 36th with my mum, dad, brother, aunt, cousins and their kids. Got some hot sauce and my brother has bought and/or donated me a bunch of effects pedals: Morley mark tremonti power wah Boss bass limiter/enhancer LMB-3 Boss Chorus ensemble CE-5 Caroline "custom limited run" vintage king fuzz Most excited about the fuzz as it has a momentary pot that is either a cutout switch or a "havoc" function. Mark tremonti has a weird career but Morley wahs are sick and I'm old enough to not give a gently caress about who's name is on the pedal when it's free and optically controlled (gently caress crybaby's and their stiff-rear end switches)

Look not my cup of tea either but from what my brother has shown me he is a talented musician well beyond anything I could hope to be And I'm never finding a reasonably priced Morley like the one cliff burton used so I'll settle for this one. My brother replaced it on his board with a newer, smaller Morley with a red base and a glow in the dark foot pedal which is pretty sweet. Next on the agenda is a decent bass amp. Probably a cabinet just to start as all the studio ones buzz/rattle from years of abuse. The amps there are fine so I might wait til something nice comes up on gumtree but a tight cab is the priority. Or I could just blow all my Xmas iso savings on a rickenbacker 4003. Today I'm playing alien isolation for the first time. What a delightfully claustrophobic game. Despite the age, the lighting and level design makes this feel really immersive.

I just finished off control and horizontal zero dawn Horizon felt unfinished but functional and had a cool conceit , looking forward to the sequel Control felt like like an SCP/dark souls shooter, didn't hang around too long and felt really cool
