BGrifter posted:Oh and apparently he’s starting Sunday cause what the hell Apart from Rodgers wanting to play to bolster an MVP campaign, there's a pretty good argument to not rest starters entirely when you have the bye week, so you aren't coming into a divisional round game as cold. Rodgers will probably play half, maybe one drive into the second half depending.

Bird in a Blender posted:There’s no way position coaches only get paid $15/hour. Don’t they usually make 6 figures? The loving waterboy should make at least $15/hour. Granted this is baseball not football but I have some experience with this and the Royals. You have this gulf where the coaches make pretty solid to exceptional money then a yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge cliff and everyone else makes literal peanuts and is worked into the loving ground. It's very much a "passion" job where you recruit people because its "not really a job" and pay them literal poo poo. You get the same thing in games/movies/etc industries too -- anywhere there is a fandom. It's pretty hilarious to compare salaries of what people in same positions make at things like sports teams or video game companies vs. same position in almost any other industry.

Money's tight and can't be wasted on frivolous stuff like bringing in a perennial Pro Bowl lineman to teach younger players how to block.

If it’s a lower or entry level job most sports organizations absolutely lowball the gently caress out of people. I had a friend who worked for a nba basketball team and the entire video team at the time was 3 people and he was making like 14 and hour.

Dan Campbell was actually a commentary on the irreversible effects of climate change and should be read in a tragic tone, not a celebratory one

There is only one reporter around to report that the coach is going to be fired and the GM is getting moved to a different elevated role.

Reiche posted:This is incredible. The Bears are one of the most embarrassing franchises in sports… right? Nope. Arguably not even the most embarrassing in the division, Almost assuredly not the most embarrassing franchise in the NFC, Definitely not the most embarrassing in the entire NFL word to the Jags. And pretty sure they aren't the most Embarrassing in US, since you know the Sac Kings exist. Extremely the most embarrassing in Chicago right now, except that the Blackhawks you know literally covered up a sexual abuser and then cosigned that rapist for a job in hockey working with children at a school, where he then proceeded to sexually assault a child, but since the Bears didn't do that, not the most embarrassing in Chicago.(Shout out to the Bulls being BACK, and the Cubs for at least having the decency to tell the fanbase to not expect poo poo, and pray for prospects for 4 years, and they at least won a ring) They are dumb and real bad in management, but like please they've just been a mediocre/below average football team.

Ugh you’re right, I didn’t even think about the Blackhawks. I threw out all of my hawks gear and tried to forget. I definitely posted that hyperbolically because it’s a little ridiculous but far from anything legitimately terrible

Whose ready for the big day? Do Nagy and Zimmer get the axe simultaniously after their press confrences? Do they get a literal axe? Or maybe a blood eagle on the viking logo? Or is it gonna be the boring ol Monday morning termination?
