Wife and I have been watching Baba Feet and I think the big problems are in the character himself.

First, he sucks as a crime boss. He doesn't seem to have any plans, doesn't delegate to any of his henchpersons, and just kinda wanders around until a plot point happens. He's constantly caught off guard by whatever rivals are doing.

Second, as portrayed, he sucks as a badass bounty hunter. Better than half the time he's in a fight he's getting his rear end kicked. Three episodes in and he's already been owned by the Tuskens, the assassins that attacked him on the street and a giant-rear end wookie that caught him unawares. The actor has this middle-aged "played high school football but works at a hardware store now" dad bod and zero charisma.

I think it could have worked if they had Boba Fett as more of a shadowy background figure and focus on the crew that's been built around him. Part of why the character got so popular was there was so little known about him that you could imagine just about anything.

If they had of gone John Wick lite where he's on a revenge kick taking out crime lords and their cronies because they wasted his raiders bros it would be a better story. You arguably don't even need to have the "current day" story and should have just told it from the perspective of his story from escaping the desert mouth, to getting his armour back and have it end with him walking out of the ship where he rescued Mando.

Boba should've been played by H Jon Benjamin and been a dowdy middle aged failure who hunts people.

Just handling bounties while being constantly tossed into the Sarlacc pit that is life.

A semicomedic Boba Fett that ends up inside the gullet of some creature at the end of every episode would have been fantastic.

LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY AS IT'S INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!
Yep, the last caller of the day one minute before phones cut off incoming calls, on a Friday afternoon before a federal holiday weekend, is asking a followup question on what someone else did. There were 3 people still logged in (out of 60).

Told him to call back Tuesday morning, and he had no idea Monday was a federal holiday. When the caller (a redneck on SSI) asked what holiday it was, I thought “oh poo poo buckle up”

I was not disappointed

Thanks to you and Blind for the words. I actually did a phone interview on Tuesday and was offered Wednesday. The great thing about my work experience is that if you are looking for someone to help people over the phone and remotely connect to their machine, I've been doing it for 12 years plus over 5 of that was as management so I look fantastic on paper.

I used to get MLK day off, but due to weirdness the company switched to taking away 7 fixed holidays and giving us 7 more vacation days instead.

Which I guess is fine? I don't know, I liked having the fixed time off, but I'm fine just taking random days instead I suppose.

Also I went to a conference in October and then tagged along with my SO when she had one in early December, and both of those times I was feeling a little iffy about the whole thing - I can’t imagine attending one in the current climate. Hope things get better before yours.

Fixed days off are better in some ways because everyone is off. Otherwise you take vacation days and just come back to extra work.

They probably assumed most people won't actually take all 7 days + the advantage to the company of what Bird said (on they are operating 7 more days a year). Can you carry over PTO?

When our PTO policy changed to increase everyone <5 years to 4 weeks but made it so you cannot carryover or get paid out on anything, they straight up admitted it was because banked employee PTO hours count as a liability on the balance sheet. Honestly I kind of respected the transparency.

Its filtering down as production scales up, but the issue is that they need to match whichever strain of covid you have, so the transition from the delta->omicron wave significantly reduced the availability of supplies

His probation was removed due to, as per the terms of the probation, repaying the money he took for goods not provided. An explanation of what happened in SA Mart, as well as some assurance that the money sent to him in good faith by people here wasn't used to repay debt accrued from what appears to be fraud, would go a long way towards assuaging concerns.

+1 to say seems pretty reasonable to be curious about the story of the indefinite probation related to some kind of goon transaction gone awry when he's been very open about money trouble itt previously. Anyone can share as much or as little as they want about their irl situation, but jumping in to say "who cares, it's not your business" doesn't seem to fit considering the background.
