Anyone have recommendations for channels that do took/antique/old machinery restoration WITH narration?

Appears I'm the odd one out wanting that because 99% are silent or just the tool noise, sort of quasi-ASMR.

But I like videos like that in the background while I play video games or just read dumb poo poo on my phone.

I've found a couple individual videos from channels that are otherwise just took-noise, but not a whole channel where the person talks over to say what they're doing and perhaps why.

I feel this request, I am not a fan of videos without narration. Here are a few of the channels I've been watching lately:

The soothing New Zealander sounds of Marty T restoring his friends and his own heavy machinery are quite nice. He explains pretty much everything going on in each shot, restores some pretty old heavy equipment, sets up free power generation from the constant rain over there, and generally shows his own slice of life in each video. I wouldn't mind having him as a neighbor.
https://www.youtube.com/c/MartyT

Probably mentioned already but This Old Tony is an extremely soothing hobby machinist YouTuber. I especially enjoyed his series on restoring an old Maho mill as a machinist nerd who has no machines or space for a shop. Maybe some day I can afford a space to fit machines into.
https://www.youtube.com/c/ThisOldTony

On the hobby machinist note I really enjoy Blondihacks' videos, she really shows how much you can do in a small shop and also has a very soothing voice:
https://www.youtube.com/c/Blondihacks

I've been getting into synths and electronic music production as a hobby lately and I have enjoyed BoBeats' videos:
https://www.youtube.com/c/BoBeatsMusic

But the videos I look forward to the most each week right now are from Cutting Edge Engineering, I loving love the gigantic lathes he uses and his wife has quickly grown in video editing and production. Homeless the shop dog is always a treat as well:
https://www.youtube.com/c/CuttingEdgeEngineeringAustralia

Edit: Trovarsi is a local and has been making some great sounds, I guess she does some workshops every now and then locally which I now need to look into:

Anyone have any recommendation for makers of nerdy things going in depth about their process?

I just watched Mighty Jabba's Collection modeling and 3D printing custom retro Star Wars figures, then watched a Tested video on how the stop-motion puppets in Star Wars TFA were made, and I've been enjoying watching Luke Towan make miniature dioramas with moving parts. Now I'm in the mood for more!

I'd be particularly interested in people using 3D printing or mold-making in their processes. Would probably enjoy cosplay videos if they're particularly talented and/or elaborate. Or any process that goes from digital -> physical.

e: and as with DrBouvenstein's request, I definitely need narration.

I found him while looking for videos on OmegaMart, which he has a great video on.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EZMc0EMmm4

He checks with each location before posting videos of the insides of them, but the ones where he can film inside are edited for the best content so as not to just be "here's the entire attraction so you don't have to pay to get in". They're great little reviews, and his love and joy of all these weird little slices of cheesy Americana really shines through no matter how dumpy and out-of-date the interior, no matter how creepy and barely-functional the animatronic, no matter how bizarre the subject matter. In the time of Covid when I'm really missing vacations, these are little slices of escapist happiness. This guy's content deserves a lot more praise than he gets, for the dedication alone.

Although maybe give it a pass if you're scared of clowns, animatronics, ventriloquist dummies, mannequins or the like. There are just so, so many creepy mannequins in there. Jesus, there's a lot.

There are probably a hojillion amateur movie reviewers on youtube, but so far I'm liking Elvis the Alien. He does to-the-point mockings of terrible movies, leaning especially towards Nick Cage movies. He's pretty down to earth and usually can't help but laugh at how stupid some of these films are. He also has a Nick Cage cardboard cutout that sometimes gets involved in the comedy.

I was daydreaming about having the time, skill, and sustained interest to build an elaborate terrarium in my apartment, then went down a big YouTube hole to find out just how many channels there are focused on creating gorgeous bioactive terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, aquariums, and more. Apparently creating elaborate self-sustaining homes for amphibians, lizards, insects, fish, plants, and just about any other critter you can think of is something that a lot of people are interested in. Thankfully, these channels are here to let you in on the process without having to deal with the tedium, hassle, smells, or maintenance of these mini habitats—or being known as "that lizard girl" or "that bug guy."

Nordic Ants
Easily my favorite of the bunch is Nordic Ants, who creates elaborate miniature ecosystems inside paludariums—a tank containing both aquatic and land-based environments which can support an entire mini ecosystem that needs little if any outside care or maintenance. He's got a chill vibe and a pleasantly dry sense of humor, and gives regular updates on the changes that take place inside of his habitats:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79HApBgCdL0

SerpaDesign
The most relaxing one I've come across is SerpaDesign. He's got a ton of skill, good taste, and a very chill vibe. He's got tanks of all sorts, from moss waterfalls to bullfrog ponds to impeccably-aquascaped river basin aquariums. He has a wide range of incredible habitats that he creates, maintains, and provides regular updates on as they shift and change over time. My favorite is a series on his massive, elaborate 350 gallon paludarium:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKTTUec1o7A

AntsCanada
A bit of a goofier take on this world, AntsCanada likes building fun themed habitats for ants, such as a spooky Skull Island or an Avatar-inspired floating mountainscape. He also does things like raise rhinoceros beetles then puts them through strength and speed challenges in a very fun Rhino Beetle olympiad. His editing and narration style is a bit over-the-top and occasionally rubs me the wrong way, and the tastefulness of some of his choices is questionable, but the content is good and his passion really comes through.

This is super cool and good but how the gently caress is he doing nearly daily uploads? These aren’t short and have a decent amount of editing going on. Just getting to these places would take more time than seems feasible for his cadence.

They aren't really that flashy and don't have any narration so he probably uses most of the footage he films and then spends an hour or so editing them a little bit. And I'm guessing he plans his travels out efficiently but yea it's really impressive.

My contribution: RedEye Reviews. It's a growing channel where he reviews schlocky action movies - he started with Steven Seagal movies but there's other stuff mixed in - and just kinda points out how stupid and ridiculous they are. It's not exactly the most original formula in the world but the narrator is funny and mocks the movies the perfect amount.

Shiey does a fair amount of train hopping and exploring ruined and abandoned places though out Eastern Europe because "its there" and its what he loves to do. Its really interesting and engaging, completely off the cuff and documented as it happens with phone cameras and go-pros. Pretty much always illegal and trespassing from finding a spot to eat/sleep from towers and abandoned places to climb. But he is not there to cause damage or steal though some of his videos will give you vertigo. His videos going to Chernobyl are a good start, he has one in the winter and one in the spring.

Occasionally they do movie reviews too. Sometimes they can go OTT with the edgy-ness it should be said.

A shame that series has been cancelled by the creator due to fear of Games Workshop's litigious dickery regarding Warhammer fan-content, but Alfabusa's moved on to start a World of Darkness series which is definitely different from TTS but is still fun and charming (so far).

That's not really what happened. Real life got in the way of making it and there were no updates for ages, and he just didn't want to have to deal with any potential problems with legality, but it was not the major reason. It ending has been held up by the Arch's and Discourse MInatures "GW is literally the devil!" people as GW being super hard on fan content, which they really haven't. It was mostly people doing things like selling 3d printing files of actual models and stuff that any company would come after. Also nazis, they came after nazi content.

He has this great line about people who just keep a ~cosmetic~ bonsai on their coffee table and just keep them watered and alive(indoor bonsai being very slow to grow due to lessened light) without pruning or training them

Something along the lines of
