What do you mean “good”? You just install Plex on your machine, point it to your legal media content library, done Install the app on your smart tv or mobile device and connect to your server if you want to stream Maybe get the forever subscription upgrade, good to go if you run out of internet megabytes At one point you have to make an account I believe, although on iOS the thing did it for me If you want to do the RAID/NAS thing with a Synology etc yeah, you’d probably need to look into the mega thread

If you want an always on server and don’t have your own nas like a huge nerd, I have heard the nvidia shield is a great option with usb attached storage for the movies etc: https://support.plex.tv/articles/221099988-setting-up-and-managing-plex-media-server-on-nvidia-shield/ You could also repurpose an old pc running windows or linux to act as a server, or a docker/vm on a nas or other kind of server. But the shield seems to be the most friendly option for someone who doesn’t want to be running a pc/server 24/7.

On the subject of Shakespeare adaptations I remember watching Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing and feeling the same about the dialogue - turn on subtitles and hope for the best https://youtu.be/AAMsDP_DMHE Nathan Fillion

i actually really liked the dirk gently series the sexpest did in spite of (or maybe because of?) the fact it had nothing to do with the source material. i only watched the first season though, the first seasons of these things always seem to be the best

It was probably fine as its own thing but it made no sense to use "Dirk Gently" as a brand. It's not as if it was a super popular series that people were clamouring for, and if you're going to ignore the tone, style, plots, and characterization completely, then why not just call it something else? infernal machines fucked around with this message at 02:26 on Jan 17, 2022 |

This isn't me poo poo-talking Americans, by the way. Marlon Brando delivered my favourite rendition of Marc Anthony's speech to the forum. At least more people these days understand that you should watch Shakespeare, not read it.

When actors don't understand the rhythm and emphasis they should be using, it sounds poo poo at best and incomprehensible at worst. For an example see the Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo di Caprio (with the exception of Pete Postlethwaite). That one was awkward in a lot of ways, but it wasn't incomprehensible, it just wasn't good.

I’ve watched Shakespeare adaptations before and didn’t have a clue what was going on but Tragedy of Macbeth was so well directed and acted that even if I didn’t understand the literal meaning of all the words, you ALWAYS got the emotional meaning from the acting, production design etc. it was really excellent.
