And then the next time around you start from what you did last time, but capital comes with your ad hoc justifications from that you only pretended to believe, because, because the alternative was admitting that you let a poo poo load of people die for no real gain, because you couldn't tell capital in general and you funders in particular no. You are correct, I have KN95s, N95s, and a 3m half mask p100.

The culprit is probably work. I have to go into the office some of the time.

I was in the habit of wearing a KN95 on one of the weekly scheduled days because basically no one else is in the building. I wore my N95 elastic ppe on days when other folks were actually in the building.

I must have had an unoptimal seal on the KN95?

I hope that my T cells aren’t exhausted and depleted… but the nature article cited in that Socialism for All YouTube linked last page specifically said my immune system is borked for ~8 months.

Ugh, I'm sorry. It's so infuriating how people in this thread are getting done in by an imperfect seal when the rest of the world is walking around with nothing or a cloth mask and seemingly going out of their way to be as reckless as possible. Hope you fully recover.

My wife and I can’t understand how my cousin and his wife have survived not catching COVID for 2 years when they haven’t stopped doing anything they love to do (travel, shopping, eating out, bars, coffee shops etc). Yet I hear about stories from friends and family who got sick because of one loving random exposure not doing anything remotely risky,

They’re either lying and they’ve had COVID or extremely lucky.

That’s what I think and it would be 100% on brand for my cousin to do that because he’s so image conscious. The truth will come out eventually because no one can keep a secret in our family for long.

He’s a coward for not owning up to it and just saying “we got COVID and we’re fine so that’s why we’re not stopping what we’re doing” vs what they’re doing now and saying it’s low risk to do these activities.

I don't understand this either. My parents and my sister's family gather maskless indoors daily for hours, and as far as they know they've never gotten it (they never get tested ever and never wear N95's and have an unvaccinated unmasked 18 month old, so I have to assume they've had asymptomatic cases or are just incredibly, incredibly lucky).

Yes, they have a 2.5 year old too and just say “oh it’s low risk for kids, they don’t get serious COVID illness”.

I’m paranoid and being dramatic when I just comment that pediatric hospitalizations are up as are kids in ICUs.
