so this is grayzone adjacent in that Carole Cadwalladr is currently being sued by Arron Banks who was the major funder of UKIP for libel claims in her reporting of him. Integrity Initiative has close links to bellingcat and just lol they've ruined her life. If she loses this case as looks fairly likely she'll be bankrupted. There's sure as Hell not any mandates I've seen in my neck of the woods (Arkansas). Government policy is so inconsistent on it that it feels worse in some places than others, and nobody has a common experience to accurately judge things on. Max needs to do a better job of explaining why technocratic solutions are gonna fail, but that's also not really his wheelhouse so I'd rather he not. There's only one real solution and it's Chinese style Zero Covid, but that's a non-starter for Americans so we're hosed no matter what.
