Also we very much do have medieval recipes still but they're all like "take yeast, one egg, add one goodely spice, and heat" with no times or measurements or which spice it meant (nutmeg)

This is my grandmother's old recipes. The ingredients would be like "enough salt" "some sugar" "a good handful of flour." Goddamnit Gammy, you're not helping. edit her sister, my Great Aunt Lee, would just include straight up lies in her recipes, leaving something out or including a made up ingredient, or leaving out steps. She didn't want to get showed up

As a lazy man, it's so nice there's an aspect to the culture war where the correct response is (mostly) utter apathy. "There are kids changing their gender!!!! Don't you think that's horrible." "No. I don't care. They probably have a good reason for it." I mean there's also being tolerant and understanding and supportive to those suffering transphobic attacks, but like 90% of the time it's sufficient to just not think about it.
