Also, for drug discovery it would be easy, since a lot of the actual work is figuring out and validating a good target. If that is done you could form a startup that controls like 30 blockbuster drugs. Also, I could probably recreate a close enough cover of The Downward Spiral from memory or something and become a rockstar. With that said, I would probably take the 10m for pure profit while keeping my family, if I had no kids it would be smash time travel. I've thought about if I went back into time with what I know and the first thing I've wondered would be what would my emotional state be? A 6 year old kid who knows everything? Like yeah, I know everything but if I fall and scrape my arm am I gonna cry like crazy? I'd struggle to go back because I feel like I'd miss my pets, weirdly. I don't remember the days I adopted them and also I feel like I'd create a butterfly effect that means my pets wouldn't be born.

I saw Spider-Man today and it was fantastic, but now I miss/am nostalgic for the Tobey and Andrew movies so I’m gonna have to do a re-watch of those soon. End credit spoiler: I’m not sure if they’re icing out Tom Hardy but if they’re making a new Venom character it would be hilarious if bartender Dany Rojas is the new host and I’m there for it Also speaking of Spider-Man and timelines, you’re all fools if you go back to 6 and plonk all your money down on Amazon the timeline will be different and you’ll look like an idiot when Amazon flounders, but at least the world will be better in that timeline!

Even just thinking of going back in time and living in a world where my kid doesn’t exist makes me profoundly sad. I know that isn’t the point of the exercise but it’s like not even a question for me.

Came to the exact same conclusion everyone with kids did. It's the one thing you couldn't attempt to recreate with any degree of accuracy. Still, the thought exercise of what would you do if given all that foresight as an advantage is an interesting one.
