They have some insulated blundstones but I don't think it's necessary.

I like them because they look good, they're extremely easy to put on and off, and they are extremely comfortable.

Yeah you could get a hiker like salomens if you really need the performance but they look like poo poo. I wear them at work but I wouldn't wear them for just mundane daily tasks, it's overkill. I don't even buy the insulated winter ones because they get too hot when you're moving around. If you have a waterproof, even goretex boot your feet are going to sweat and it keeps them warm.

For the vast majority of people just wear some good thick socks and your feet are going to be warm no matter what you wear, especially if you are doing something physical like shoveling. Unless you are standing around for hours without physically moving outside you don't really need an insulated boot.

blundstones are rainy day boots. which makes them appropriate approximately 250 days of the year on the west coast

Elephants are mammals of the family Elephantidae and the largest existing land animals. Three species are currently recognised: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant.
I don't think there's a single person in the downtown core of Toronto that doesn't almost exclusively wear blundstones - therefore by rule of cool alone they're a must.

That is pretty optimistic considering the brutal cold snaps that have been happening all over the place. My feet will be loving freezing in the time it takes to brush the snow of my car even in boots. Those frostbite in minutes warnings aren't kidding.

My point is that age is currently almost the only variable that indicates how you receive education and I'm saying maybe other things should be considered, too.

I'm sure that you would meet certain educational goals this way but I can guarantee that kids would hate school even more if they had to go through the poor kids track

I got my insulated Columbia boots for like $20 more than a pair of Chuck Taylors, why would you not simply by a good boot that will keep your feet warm and dry? This is legitimately the dumbest argument this thread has had in a while, and that's saying something.

You did say the vast majority, but I've definitely wore these during a -40 windchill march through the snow in Winnipeg to make sure I had feet by the end of it.

I think we can all agree that you should wear proper footwear no matter where you live or what you're doing.

I'm with ARACHTION on this one. Everyone at my work wears them due to the ease of putting them on and off. We need steel toes part of the time, but not in the office. West coast location though. I wouldn't wear them in the snow.

Regarding the cowboy hat analogy, the presence or absence of blundstones doesn't really tell at a glance how likely someone is to call me a f*g and throw a punch. The hat can sometimes be a good warning sign.

I haven't owned winter boots in decades and I get by just fine.

My wife convinced me to buy a pair 3? years ago and I wore them once, then lent them to a friend's kid for a construction job and never got them back or got them back and accidentally gave them to goodwill I'm not sure which.

Started when i was two, ended when i was thirteen, plus three rounds of annual retests with a giant fuckoff tray of actual needles (scratch tests having not yet become a thing) and one more scratch test from an allergist who took $1100 to test for everything but the thing i sat there and told him i was allergic to, which was the entire reason for that test

So yeah I don't get to talk any poo poo about not understanding the "afraid of needles" crowd, that's just how it was.

Buckle up, at least one Ontario university has sent out letters to staff asking if anyone wants to volunteer for 2-3 weeks in local health care facilities.

Edit: found a tweet about it

There are different versions of the emails going around depending on the audience. The email I saw was asking for help taking support calls or preparing meals.
