Dying Light is probably the best zombie killing game out there that isn’t primarily a co-op shooter. Bad writing almost feel like a staple of that whole genre of games tho.

Left 4 Dead had some good writing. That was written by Chet Faliszek. His company just released a similar type of coop game called The Anacrusis. I bet that's pretty fun too.
