More/"real" dungeons but most importantly a nerfed glider (as it stands mostly nullifies encounter design) would have made botw better. Game is still great though

Stickerbrush symphony is composed to be an atmospheric and melancholy song with some tension built in, and is very good at that. Spiral mountain is designed to be a jaunty and folksy tune with the vibes of living in the countryside, and it's very good at that. Comparing the two or putting them up against each other really makes no sense. If you swapped them between their respective settings neither would make a lick of sense

Banjo kazooie makes no sense. Banjo lives in a valley overlooked by a witch with no other entrances or exits, and in the intro of the game he doesn't know who the witch is? Where does Tooty live? Wtf is going on here

No the glider is good because the encounters suck after you figure out how parry or rush regularly. Armor and food don’t help in making them any better either.

However, Tooty clearly knows Bottles and is close with him from their conversation. There is a picture of Bottles inside their house. It's clear that Bottles is likely a groomer.

Banjo has anterograde amnesia. Rather than force him every morning to face the horror that it's been fifteen years since his last memory, Tootie and Kazooie just go along with it. This explains why Kazooie seems to hate everybody's guts for no reason, she's spent a long dealing with their poo poo. That witch doctor guy has been exploiting Banjo's condition for years, and Bottles has clearly said some lovely things in the past. He's on board now, but you can see the exasperation in his dialogue that he has to deal with this stupid bear and his rear end in a top hat friend again

Sorry to interrupt, but I am really loving angry at a $2 puzzle game right now and I'm going to write a bunch of words about it. So a game called Blackjack Math showed up on the eShop this week. A simple puzzle game where you solve math problems with cards to try to get to 21. Simple enough concept, seems like a decent time killer for an hour or so. First off, touch screen only. Obviously it's a mobile port or whatever, but most other mobile ports at least add basic controls, and since the entire idea is swapping cards, it's easily doable. Nope, only touch screen. No idea how/if it works docked. Stupid, but whatever. Now let's get to the gameplay. The first batch of puzzles are simple enough. Then we get to Aces, which can be 1 or 11. Makes sense, adds a decent wrinkle to the gameplay. But things get wonky once two Aces are in a puzzle...  So this is how Puzzle 12 starts out. Each Ace can be 1 or 11. The Red Ace counts as a negative, thus the Minus symbol. Thus if the Aces are both 1 or 11, then the answer is 0 - 9 = -9. Makes sense. If +A is 11 and -A is 1, that's 10-9 = 1. But what about +A=1 and -A=11? That would be -10-9 = -19. Instead, the game registers it as -9.  Same results if you swap the two Aces. Which, of course, is what you would expect, as that's one of the fundamental laws of mathematics. Still no -19, though.  -1 + 9 - 1 = 7. Check. -11 + 9 - 1 = -3. Check. -11 + 9 - 11 = -13. Check. -1 + 9 - 11 = -3. Uhhh, why two -13's instead of -3's then? So what? Might just be a dumb glitch or whatever, not like it actually affects the game much, right? Well, let's skip ahead to Puzzle 15.  First thing to note, this game follows Order of Operations, so you do multiplication and division before addition/subtraction. So far, makes sense. Also, Queens are 10, again like Blackjack. But let's do the math here... 10 - (-1/1) = 11. 10 - (-1/11) = 10.09. 10 - (-11/11) = 11. 10 - (-11/1) = 21. That's right. The game actually starts with the solution being 21, but due to "reasons" it doesn't register. Naturally, the way to solve this is to simply swap the two Aces, and boom, now the answer is recognized. I don't know how you can make a game called Blackjack Math and manage to gently caress up half the title. Don't buy this, please. e: BUT THERE'S MORE Mega64 posted:Fun Fact.
