It's been a while but Sempervive went on one of his trademark bizarre, breathless and rambling rants about nothing today. I have absolutely no idea what point he was trying to make but he wouldn't loving shut up and was just yelling over Bryan trying to eagerly make whatever point it was he was trying to make, including at one point arguing the exact opposite of what he'd spent the last 5 minutes ranting about. Towards the end Bryan literally just muted his mic and moved on to something else. It started off as him mocking Bryan for being so out of touch as to say he had better things to do than spend an ENTIRE Saturday watching WWE, and by the end arguing vociferously that he himself had better things to do than spend an ENTIRE Saturday watching WWE like Bryan.... didn't.... want to do?Arbite posted:Mark confirmed for the Rumble B&V again! Semp's style of persuasion involves a somewhat baffling strategy where first he assumes a devils advocate position that is being presented by an imaginary person who may or may not have existed on twitter at some point in the past two weeks. Then he tries to pivot into a pithy summation either for or against this devils advocate position that he himself introduced ultimately coming to the conclusion that 'it is what it is'. I haven't even seen this particular rant. I remain convinced I nailed it tho.

Yep you nailed it. Semp can be just fine and sometimes even really good, but he is really bad about arguing a point, particularly in the heat of the moment, and like you said he's got a terminal case of trying to raise objections to his own points (presumably to prove he considered alternate viewpoints) but then he seems to forget what his original point was and ends up convincing himself of the counter argument without realizing that's what he's done. It's really quite baffling, he's not at all like this on Big Audio Nightmare!

Yeah Semp was right that different times work for different people and Bryan is right that nobody wants to watch 10 million hours of wwe content on a Saturday. They just hate each other so much that they were arguing two completely different points for no reason.

It took me a while to gel with Deadlock, but now it regularly makes me laugh to tears. Due to some life issues I've been dealing with, I haven't done one of those B&V edits in a while, but I'm considering doing a Deadlock one for a change of pace. It wouldn't get the hits B&V would but it'd be fun.
