the stage 4 boss was actually the easiest one, I'm on to stage 5 with 2 continues left... I could probably do the no continues thing if I really sat down and focused because the 1up system feels generous

Made it to stage 5 on my first go, this seems doable, perspective on the vertical parts took some getting used to. Since there's no in-level powerups to snag it seems like there's a lot of incentive to just play it safe and not go out of my way trying to destroy every enemy. Enemies seem to either mind their own business or gently caress me up at at 300 mph from out of nowhere with no in between.

not nearly as salty about this one as I was with w&w, I think my shmup mucles are still strong after beating Blazing Lazers last year the vertical levels took a lot of adjusting, though. snes's pseudo-3d depth drawing is pretty hard to go back to, and your ship's hitbox seems pretty fucky, and the first stage has weird physics that draw you towards the center of the screen pretty, though. love the city lights in stage 3

hell yeah beat the second boss first attempt without losing any lives. thoughts so far: -ship is chunky and im not used to where its hitbox is yet -projectiles sometimes are just solid blue instead of flashing. i also dont like that the ones that do flash do so with the same color palet as my spread shot -the mode 7 poo poo in the first stage i really dont like. it does lead to that cool bit where you have to take a hard swerve right and a hard swerve left, but other than that, not a fan. -is it me or does the ship do a little jig when beating a boss. -i really like how versatile the spread shot is without being a completely weak peashooter, that said ive only beaten stage 2 so maybe tougher enemies will start swarming in.
