Depends on what you liked. This one is less combat focused and not at all pvp focused.

I'm walking around throwing rocks at animals and sometimes it knocks them out and I either sell them or make them my slaves.

If the rocks don't knock them out I have my slaves maul them until they're too weak to resist my will to enslave them.

This brutality is rewarded with fun hats.

How often do first-party Nintendo Switch games go on sale on the eShop? Just about never? I'm talking stuff like Yoshi's Crafted World, Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Kirby Star Allies, etc. I remember first-party titles on the 3DS eShop almost never went on sale.

I'm seeing them for $40ish a pop on ebay, but if the eShop does better discounts than that I'm happy to wait for a sale.

If I ever see a discount on a first party Nintendo game it’s usually like ten to twenty bucks off and it happens maybe once a year. I got DK Tropical Freeze for 50 dollars down from 70 and that was a steal for a port for a game from 2016

Dekudeals keeps track of sales history for games, but usually it happens about once or twice a year. Typically during E3 and during the Christmas season.

I am enjoying the heck out of Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. If you have fond memories of watching Record of Lodoss War on Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Anime and you're looking for an exact 100% clone of SotN, I highly recommend. Looks good, sounds good, feels good. If you're worried about Switch performance, frame rate is solid--only noticed slowdown in two rooms right in the beginning.

I just bought a used copy from Gamestop for $27, and then grabbed New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe while I was at it.

Finally finished Banjo-Kazooie, roughly 23 years after renting it from a Blockbuster back when they, y'know, existed. It's a good feeling to wrap up that bit of unfinished business after all that time.

Next up: wrapping up the second Famicom Detective game.

Nintendo has almost never done more than a 30% discount on an eshop sale. You just missed the New Year's Sale. Next up is March 10, when they always put 1 or 2 Mario games on sale. Then the E3/summer sale. So you've got a nice long wait ahead.

Keep in mind that eShop cards (digital and physical) are routinely on sale for 10-20% off.

If you've got Costco or a friend who does, it's effectively permanent eShop discounts even for launch day first party titles. I think Newegg is running a 10% off sale right now, too, if you don't.

Hell, first party launches sometimes give you double gold points so basically another 10% back on the list price. It's not a Steam sale but it's something.

Some of the older first party games do go on sale, usually around the summer and during the holidays. This past cyber Monday I saw Mario Kart, BoTW, and Odyssey for about $35-40. These were for physical and not eshop though.

I’ve never seen Smash on sale (I might be wrong on that) and I know I’ve been waiting for Luigi’s Mansion to go on sale and that hasn’t happened afaik. Honestly anything two years and newer forget about it.

Peripherals question, I’m not picky about having cases for Switch game cards when I buy them used if it means saving some money on them, but they’re also like the size of a postage stamp and just begging to be lost. Is there a good inexpensive route for storing game cards? I have a couple little carry cases that I keep all of my DS/3DS carts in.

Thank you guys for being so accommodating for my idiot newbie questions, I’m having a blast with my Switch and I’m just trying to maximize my fun-to-:10bux: ratio. I’ve always seen my Nintendo consoles as my fun chillax consoles where I pretty much only get first party games (because it’s cheaper to get the others elsewhere lol) and the games end up being really polished and an all around good time. I was waiting for the Switch to build up a good stable of first-party games I was interested in before I jumped in, and so far I’m not regretting my purchase at all.

There's also goon Red Robin Hood, who sells eShop credit (as well as PSN and IIRC Xbox cards) for 10% off over in SAMart. I've bought from them before and can recommend.

Both of the carrying cases I've bought for my Switch have had slots for carrying game cards. If you're planning on playing docked all the time and never taking the Switch anywhere, I'm sure there's also folio style carrying cases just for cards.

Joke option; there's apparently an Etsy store or something like that that reproduces the game boxes at a size that is just slightly larger than the game card for portability.
