Lost Judgment was pretty good. I’d rate it a bit higher than the first one due to the fairly rare gimmick missions (tailing, stealth etc). Story is pretty good too.

Even though the spoilers are limited to nods and winks to the past via the game world it is best to follow that sequence. There is no crossover from a character or plot perspective so it’s fairly safe either way.

i like judgment's story and characters but kinda hated everything about playing it, and lost judgment is the best playing yakuza since 0 but the story is just kinda ok. use this information to slot them into your personal ranking as you see fit

My roommate is currently playing Yakuza 2 and abusing the hell out of Kiryu's digestive system by downing appetite suppressants and eating entire course meals back to back. Watching him do this and fight randos on the street is very amusing.

somehow I apparently didn’t do like any minigames or other completion poo poo as I played through LAD, and so now I’m taking care of that before I do the finale. Turns out just checking off all the “order everything on the menu at X restaurant” completion items in a row by making the party go on a bar crawl owns. We’re all maximum drunk and mowing through underleveled idiots in street fights in between downing whole menus and therefore getting all the combo meal boosts and triggering all the table talk

lmao if you do all the hostesses, then for the last one in kamurocho, kiryu sees the hostess that shinada brings with him and thinks, in these words, hm, maybe that guy's not such a shmuck after all. I guess I better reconsider my opinion of him.

drat, I'm surprised at the negative sentiment towards Judgment. It certainly wasn't a well polished experience but I thought it was excellent. On the other hand, I'm really struggling to get into Lost Judgment. Most Yakuza games start off slow but Lost Judgment is really taking its time getting going.

The 5 finale might be the best one in the series, except for 6 but that’s the finale to Kiryu’s story as a whole so it’s not a fair comparison
