i'm a Domas fan, but boy this was most of a dull and pointless episode

It was okay, pacing could have been better. If they limited the stand off to the big guy 1v1 and the whole team zerg rush it would have been much tighter and still gotten it accross that Domas is a badass. I liked how it showed kings are just on an entirely different level. Speaking of kings, every episode from now on needs at least a little Whiteking. I can't get enough of that crazy, fat horse. Good episode. I like King Desha more everytime he shows up, he's like if waluigi was a rick and morty character. His men are weirdly adorable, too. Hittin Domas w that nutshot, tho? king poo poo.

Desha is a joy to behold. The nutshot and Domas failing to break his drat neck and crying about it were some very high highlights.

I finally caught up. I feel like the pacing has really slowed down these last few episodes. Like they’re really milking these few locations after giving us so much in the early episodes.

I'm optimistic that these episodes look kind of rough for the sake of molecular-splitting Bojji sakuga down the line.

The lead underworld guard having a little mustache on his helmet is A+

This show has been metaphorically and literally kicking Domas in the nuts since episode one for how poorly he served Bojji as a teacher and a protector.

And he deserves every bit of it. He's definitely been the least sympathetic character in the show for me (which is, admittedly, a very low bar to clear because everyone in this show is very sympathetic) and his suffering is very enjoyable. Attempting suicide then feeling like poo poo for failing should've not been that though, but the fact that it failed because he's just that strong is hilarious. Apparently he's even trained his neck and head to the point of not shattering on impact.

Just binged this show the last couple weeks, extremely good. I see I'm not the only one who noticed the pacing issues, but I can live with this series at its worst just being average.

Usually it feels manipulative and pushy when you have a bunch of characters being weepy, but I'll be damned if it isn't the cutest thing in this show. Hand-holding being very important is likewise my jam.

Baby crucifixion wasn't on my bingo card for this show. Although I should have known better after Miranjo's backstory.

The whole implication of Miranjo being the one to kill Bojji's mom before getting doublecrossed herself is mindboggling right now. That whole scene was loving brutal.

I think it was mentioned earlier in the show that Miranjo was behind Bojji's mom's death, but thought it would be magic or poison and not straight up

Those arrows were something special, too. A couple feet of iron cap was put on those for weight and durability, looks like.

McKilligan posted:"Bojji, you don't understand! Gigan is a criminal!" Yeah... I'd have told the king to go gently caress himself and cut his rear end if he kept trying to arrest him. Honestly I'm kind of mad that Gigan ended up joining the guard since killing for a king who genocided your people is kind of worse than just being in a cell.

Yeah, except it isn’t genocide when your whole clan are mercenaries hired by the opposing side; a side that is very heavily implied to have done even worse things. Like, Gigan good boy and all, but don’t use words like that willy nilly.

I mean, outside of that literal deal with the devil, Bosse seemed like he was probably a good ruler.

For as long as he was alive. The weird poo poo in a basement and the hidden portal to the underworld seem a little concerning for the post-Bosse kingdom.

# ? Feb 5, 2022 17:30 |

Bosse's arc seems to be "I'll be the strongest no matter what dark bargains I have to make!" *becomes dad* "I'll protect this child no matter what dark bargains I have to break!" *dies* Dark bargains: "You're not getting out of this that easily." Bosse: "Then I shall uphold the letter of the bargains and no more."
|
# ? Feb 5, 2022 17:42 |
|
I won't deny he's now undermining the dark bargains but there was a lot of goddamn compromise leading up to it. Unless I'm mistaken, the extending his own life bit wasn't part of the deal at all but was done at Miranjo's request. I'll be interested to see the machinations behind the war that killed Bojji's mom because as it stands, Bosse is responsible for the death of at least one of the women he voluntarily made a deal with.
