i know it's an mmo but if i want to spend my time just solo grinding poo poo for more gear like it's a diablo can i do that or is it designed around slower loot gain with raids and lockouts and stuff? and if so, can any class solo or are some of them fairly bad compared to others?

Any class can solo, there is no "holy trinity" And the drops/xp from regular mobs are kinda garbage, so grinding non-endgame stuff is kind of a waste of time unless you are doing map competition stuff.

As far as I can tell you can solo all the endgame stuff except for raids, which I feel qualifies. Most of it does have lockouts, but they're character-based so you can just level as many alts as you want to spend time spamming endgame stuff.

this game's really boring so far lol. Just beat Burning of Stratholme. Playing a Striker but so far it doesn't seem to have mattered since mindlessly jamming my move buttons while slowly advancing through hordes of birds and bandits like the diablo clone I was told this wasn't going to be has been working so well I haven't even had to use my dodge move or any healing potions or whatever. Game is really pretty though. My dude keeps yelling like Bruce Lee which is cool as hell

This game feels like a mix of Diablo and Rift just without Rifts cool class trees. It's fun though but yeah it definitely feels like Diablo for the first thirty levels

I thought the game was pretty simple also, but once you get to the second continent and hit the level 20 dungeon, you can taste some of the FFXIV inspiration and you finally, for better and worse, get a long-form WOW-type dungeon. I think it's pretty clear you're in tutorial mode for the entire first continent. I'd say reserve judgment until you get to that point.

And yeah, the dungeons that end in multi-phase boss fights are pretty cool, although not particularly difficult compared to the regular boss fights. I think the only casualties I've seen in hard dungeons have been people who get really stubborn when the boss targets them and just stand still and get juggled instead of running around dodging while the rest of the group does damage.
