Here’s my Snoop Dogg story: My mom worked at a check cashing place in a Long Beach adjacent city in the early 90s. One day the place was held up by a guy with a gun and a trash can, he grabbed my moms coworker as she came in for her shift and threatened to shoot her if my mom didn’t open the security door. So he took the money and got away. That guy turned out to be none other then Nate Dogg of Death Row records. Mom had to testify in court with Snoop, Dre, Warren G and Suge Knight all in the gallery. After the judge saw them in the courtroom he assigned a sheriff escort between the courthouse and home for her protection. So yeah

My sister's family came over today and I was told I was the fun uncle LETS GOOOOO

Long before COVID, my sister's kids loved visiting their Uncle Tim, because I had a bunch of old '80s toys (Ghostbusters, Transformers, some other stuff, and some Rock Band controllers), but I eventually had to cut them off from visiting because my sister and her husband were incredibly anti-vaxx, and I was severely immunocompromised from, at the time, kidney treatment. (Cyclophosphamide, for the medical types.)

Well, then my sister's husband got COVID and spent two weeks in the hospital from it. (Probably doesn't help that he smokes at least a pack a day, but that's neither here nor there.)

Anyway, they got their shots, and I finally said I was fine with meeting up with them. The girls immediately hugged me, and I set out a giant area rug in my living room (I really have a tiny studio apartment, my living room is my kitchen), broke out the old Ghostbusters and Transformers that I hadn't sold over the past few years, plus some boxes of LEGOs that I had picked up for a buck in a neighbor's "hey, I gotta get rid of this poo poo" move, and those little ones were so, so happy. I turned on some kids songs and watching them clickety-clack on old Rock Band controllers at the music was just the cutest thing I've ever seen.

My sister has said that my nieces constantly ask when they can go to Uncle Tim's again. (Maria and her family are about five hours away, so it's not often.) But, believe me, it's nice to be the FUN UNCLE. Cherish it while it's there.

Double check if there's a rollover requirement on the money because of the promotion involved.

The entire production was lousy with cheap 90s/early 00s nostalgia. Doja Cat singing “Celebrity Skin”, a Sopranos commercial, Larry David, a Fresh Prince of Bel Air reboot, etc etc.

The promotion was ‘if you lose you get your take back in free bets that you have to use over the next week’ so since I didn’t lose it was just a normal bet.

Yeah, I shoveled really quickly in the 2nd quarter, then after the game looked out and the same amount was back, so shoveled again, and then this morning an equal amount was down.

Each time took like 5 minutes, but still, it was 60 on Saturday!

Feel like I'd almost rather drive in a couple/three inches of snow than one inch, just since more people would know what they're dealing with. 7's pushing it a bit far though.

We're supposed to get absolutely nothing or 8 inches on Thursday. Weather reports are fun.

Steeeeriiiiiiiiike twooooooo!

Somehow Friday morning going from rain to snow created zero driving issues. We got a couple inches late yesterday/overnight, and the commute today was pretty bad. Nowhere near the worst I've seen, but unexpected.

Also the melt/refreeze + 2-ish inches of snow means our driveway is packed down and still has too little snow to use the blower, so I guess no packages at the front door for the foreseeable future. Shout out to the very persistent Amazon driver who, based on the evidence, got stuck in at least two different spots before giving up and throwing it by the mailbox. Pretty sure the portion where they got a couple tires about 3 feet off the driveway wasn't deep enough to gently caress up the yard, so still doing better than the FedEx vehicle from last year.

It was 40 and sunny on Friday all day which might as well be tropical this time of year here, so made plans to pull out the grill for some steak and pork tacos. What drives me nuts about this is that all the snow in the front driveway had finally cleared away and I was gonna start parking there again instead of in the back!

My wife ordered Chinese last night and the delivery guy went to the front door despite it being completely snowed in. I will never understand why people keep doing this.

I mean, doesn't require a brain genius to reach this conclusion, it was pretty obvious exactly what demographic they were aiming for here.

Look at the Weeknd as like a transitional element, there's gonna be a lot more rap and club hits from here on out because that is the demo they're trying to target. We are, that is. Probably some 90s/early 2000s rock/alternative as well.

Arguing whether it is for millenials or Gen X, which they're doing in that twitter thread, is stupid because it is both.
