Gonna be very interesting to see if I can run this as I'm right at the breaking point spec-wise. My i7-7700HQ is slightly worse than min, 1060@6GB a decent bit better but still not at recommended. 16GB RAM at least.

Sekiro actually ran really well on my machine, much better than DS3 at launch and no issue at all for 60FPS/1080p. Will be sad if I have to refund due to poo poo framerate or similar.

Unless this is some kind of CP2077 level disaster, your CPU will in no way hold you back from playing this game well, especially at 1080

The arcane stat

People seem to think it makes it easier to get materials, presumably for crafting items like firebombs. In one of the videos, someone uses the bandit class and uses an item that makes glintstone sorceries. Like instead of magic, the character crushes an item and it makes magic. So people are speculating that arcane might not be a trap stat but a really niche style.

I don't know how accurate that is but it would be wild to focus solely on a couple stats and then use items instead of pumping Faith or Intelligence. I'm so freaking excited

In theory but DS3 actually ran like loving rear end for me, and not even just in the worst areas. Not sure I ever made it to a consistent 60fps in that game even on low settings, generally around 50 with dips towards 30. All was fine again for Sekiro.

This is basically how Arcane worked in Bloodborne- it affected attack items like molotovs and hunter tools, as well as item find. It definitely had its uses, but it also took more effort to get something out of it than strength or skill.

What are you running? Everyone always shits over SLI but I ran a pair of 970s (themselves maligned by some phantom memory thing where they really only had 3.5gb instead of 4) back then and like I said, it was butter. With a 2080 now I needn't fret for a little while

My kid is freaking out about the requirements. His PC is a 3470 w/8GB and a 1050ti. Runs DS3 on low settings at 60FPS most of the time. He never tried Sekiro because he watched me play it and noped out but we've basically been able to talk about nothing but how we're gonna co-op the poo poo out of elden ring together and well... He's now sad.

I think it will end up running if we tweak the settings downward, maybe run at 720p or something.

Probably even higher than that it's incredibly tough to even buy them at the 2x (or more) inflated prices. I lucked into a slightly older card from work otherwise I wouldn't have built my new PC.

What's a good class and play style for someone who hasn't played any From games except Bloodborne and Demons Soul remake? I was magic guy in DSR and could just cheese bosses since I'm a scaredy cat.

Nobody really knows since the network test is the only thing the general public has played and the release game is much different. There are gonna be all sorts of summons and such and we have seen those used on the one main boss shown so far.

Astrologer will give you a similar start with magic in ER. Going a pure strength build is usually a fairly safe bet in souls games since you can just pump your hp and stamina to comfortable levels then put everything into strength and crush poo poo.

equip the biggest sword you can, take one swing at the boss with it and then spend the rest of your stamina meter dodge rolling in random directions

I always pick the knight looking guy because it has enough strength and dex that you can use most weapons you pick up pretty easily.

I think upgrading his RAM to hit the minimum 12GB requirement would cost less than a copy of Elden Ring at this point, wouldn't it? I know everyone's got their own budget but that seems like a pretty small investment for a really significant improvement. Hell, Windows will probably run noticeably better

Yes thank you and the others. I like this idea. I just want to experience the game and not be a wuss if possible. The most forgiving build will probably work for me.
