I feel exactly the same way. Horizon has been on my backburner for years but at this point I'm starting to feel like I'm kidding myself, I'll probably never get to it. I don't think any of Sony's story-driven exclusives are for me.

Hunting robots and going into dens was way more fun than clearing out a camp in something like Far Cry.

I wish I liked Majora's Mask but I didn't like it at the time because of the timeloop and nowadays I just can't deal with N64 Zeldas. Some people say they are timeless, and those people are wrong.

Which is saying something really… the time loop thing just annoyed me to the point of it not being fun. Like honestly figuring out all the character loops without using a guide just didn’t feel like a fun Zelda game.

Three Houses did weapon durability really well. You can repair everything at any point outside battles, and when gear does drop to it’s last hitpoint it just becomes a “flawed” version: it’s doesn’t break apart and get dumped from your inventory

HZD has the full skeleton of a Ubisoft tower climbing and camp clearing game, but with these pure gold nuggets of dino fighting in between. Dino fights are deadly, but once you get up and running you can completely dismantle them if you catch them unawares. Bug Squash fucked around with this message at 13:24 on Feb 18, 2022 |

Willo567 posted:Sorry, I overreacted about the Nintendo Life articles. It's a lovely decision from Nintendo Ok, but like.... Why? The 3ds and WiiU are old systems, getting older by the day, and maybe aside from repairing them, they're no longer supported by Nintendo. Why is this surprising and upsetting to anyone? The WiiU wasn't a huge seller, and in fact was considered a failure, so at least to me, while not trying to side with a corporation here, it makes sense why they'd be shutting down the online service. The 3DS less so at this time, but it's gonna happen sometime. Anyway.... Last night, I played 30 minutes of Tetris Effect Connected, thought "huh, this is neat", and that was it. This morning, I woke up and all I wanted to do was keep playing, literally every mode, in every difficulty. That game digs in deep, even if it doesn't seem to at first.

Why is this surprising and upsetting to anyone? The eshop is linked together across platforms including Switch so it comes off like there's no good reason to turn it off, especially since some games are gonna be locked out forever (especially digital-only games). Shutting down the Wii Shop made more sense because that was its own thing in its own closed off garden. It'd be like, what if Steam decided that they'd no longer let people buy games that are over 10 years old. It'd feel pointless and arbitrary y'know?

I wouldn't say it's surprising (very on brand actually) but still lovely and sucks, especially when Sony got shamed for doing the same with the PS3 and reversed course. Nintendo will never do that though, let's be real
