Yeah it's melodramatic and exaggerated. It's a shorthand for stereotypes in the genre/culture. Something being anime is not a descriptor of quality.

There's a sweet spot where they quickly tell you what you want with maybe a little color and nothing else. Both directions outside of that suck. And I too despise skits in youtube videos oh my god. It's especially grating in a movie critique video where they trash the movie while putting on a skit that is way worse in every way. "The acting is really bad" oh buddy, you should try watching your skits sometime.

Sera does get slightly better in the DLC and IIRC even apologizes if you’re an elf and she rubbed it in your face that your mythology was all a lie But I respect BioWare just making the decision to give you a party member with no likable qualities of any kind. Even Solas has his moments

Horizon Forbidden West added in actual underwater swimming mechanics, and it's exactly as annoying as I expected. I never like it in these games, it's not fun even when they give you something to negate the oxygen meter element, and I find it a downright slog before then.
