Like, oh wow, this movie is so artful, even the curtains have meaning and represent her depression from the agony of losing her baby. Wow, this definitely doesn't make me feel even more poo poo than I already did. edit: that being said there's a limit... I tried watching the fast and furious movies and just... didn't give a poo poo, even with the car-fu. same for pacific rim. it's weird how everyone has a hardon for pacific rim but marvel movies have a fair bit more... everything, than that. not a high bar, but they do clear it. Only tenuously connected but it was funny - I work in a pharmacy and each patient has a 'nominated' pharmacy where all their electronic scripts go. Recently a guy phoned already all angry that his wife's script hadn't been filled. I checked and she was nominated with an online pharmacy. He said crossly "Yes, when we order online it goes there, but when we see the doctor in person it goes to you". I tried to explain that's not how it works and he interrupted me to say "Well EXCUSE ME but I think I KNOW" so - I checked, and sure enough it had gone to the online pharmacy. I told him and he said "Well I shall contact the doctor, but if that turns out not to be the case, I will be making a complaint." I said there was no point making a complaint to us since nobody at my company had interacted with this prescription at all and he interrupted me *again* to say "You know what, I'll make it simple, I will simply not use your pharmacy any more!" I said "You're not using our pharmacy now!" And then he yelled so I hung up. People often give it 'I'll take my business elsewhere!' but not often when they already have.

What I like about reddit is that it sorts of works in reverse of the way it's supposed to. If I say something factually correct that people don't like, they just mash the button, but nobody can explain why it might be incorrect. They just don't like it. This lets me know I am correct, and people are dumb animals, and there are a lot more racist pedos out there than you would think, and it's not worth trying to explain things further to get into pointless slapfights with them. Don't ever leave me, dead gay forums with no votes who will actually say why I am wrong if I'm wrong.

No, the whole MASTER/SLAVE thing definitely comes up in a ‘well when it was relevant tech in the 90s nobody really ever questioned it, but the second you think about it for one second it’s really not good’ way. I’m glad that is left in the past, but mainly because it was always a pain in the rear end. If it was still used, god the arguments from people demanding it shouldn’t be renamed would be so tiring.

Got bad news for you if you think its in the past. Its not used for IDE drive anymore, because they don't make IDE drives anymore, but its still a standard term/command if you deal with databases
