Really gonna miss this series, it's been one of my favourites since it started. The thing that really bothers me about this ending is how Kita-kun doesn't appear in the ending montage with all the other side characters, especially since the last chapter before the final two featured her. Feels really out of place, y'know?

This stands in kind of sharp contrast to a lot of gay themed mangas that seem to be just 2 girls being good friends for 500 pages. I wish Webtoons had a good system to sort out the LGBT comics from the other stuff. Some of them are amazing.

it's not really a western thing. there is large chunk of japanese stuff that way too in regards to being upfront and open, esp the stuff made by lgbt peeps. like look at that butch x butch anthology discussed in here. it's just that stuff like gl in japan have like a wider thing going on and a history that is sorta its own space. for example, i would say all manwha stuff i read tends to be upfront about lgbt stuff. There does seem to have been a cultural shift in the last decade or two, with regard to these kinds of things being depicted in manga - I remember when it was a rare treat to have anything that wasn't hidden in subtext.

Thanks for that, and I'm absolutely reading it. Like I'm not looking for explicit imagery or anything (though I don't mind it) But I really want a clear unambiguous emotional relationship that couldn't easily be misconstrued for simply a good friendship.
