the idea of an ev pickup is really appealing to me in a bubble where i have to choose between an ev pickup or an ice pickup, but then it still suffers from the problem all pickups have in that it's useful a handful of times a year when you want to pick a large package up from a store or not get deer blood and guts all over the roof of your car or line the interior with plastic to bring it home i just want a loving estate car instead of an suv or micro hatchback, or even better, some public transportation

in my fantasy world where things were Better, instead of selling pickups on the "three times a year you might need to move a bag of dog food thats larger than a passenger seat" we pushed small cars and everybody having a lil 1-2k pound cargo trailer. pull behind stuff is super cool. you can bring a bbq grill, or a bunch of moving boxes, or a small boat, and you learn how to drive and manipulate your vehicle better
