Kimchi was very brown as a kitten, almost ginger in some lighting, or in nightmode as evidenced here: Now she's changed colours to match Katya, more of a brownish black.  That baby looks so much like young Kimchi, treasure her.

I think the amount of brown has more to do with lighting than age. My old cat at 2 1/2 months old:  My old cat at about 9 months old:  My old cat at 4 years old:  See? Lighting.

Yes, both of them are brownish in direct sunlight but Kimchi used to be a coppery brown in almost any lighting, never seen anything like it tbh. When her adult fur grew in she started to just have that brown glow in natural light. This was her this time last year, they grow up so fast.
