I keep getting comment replies where dudes helpfully explain that russia is actually just saving ukraine from the nazi fascists that have held the country since 2014, and that they're nazis and fascists so russia is actually trying to help and russia is the good guys. Their comment histories tend to be bog standard alt-right CHUDery. You can throw them off if you just ask them if the holocaust happened. Apparently a real tough question!

There are a distressing number of comments on reddit giving Ukrainians very dubious advice on urban warfare (one "bestof" comment advising poisoning the water supply?!). I hope to God they don't get any more people killed.

On the other hand it's pretty silly how people try to think of any way to post about Ukraine in totally unrelated subreddits for some leftover karma. And the bestof style mall ninja guides about warfare.

A generation of terminally online shitheads who think what they saw in a video game or movie is real life when the reality is if they went through what Ukrainians are going through right now would end up dead in soiled undergarments. The internet tough guy meme has come full circle.

El Jeffe posted:*Literal neo-Nazis do classic nazi poo poo* Good to know the classics are back with the same story but different names. This was a thing in the USA at the height of the war on terror and it was just as stupid then. I'm pretty sure it was explained that Islam has rules that deal with that kind of thing and it doesn't send people to hell. I was also under the impression Russia is mainly Christian, what with the Eastern Orthodox church and all, so who are the Muslims that they are doing this for?

I'm just gonna speculate that a lot of baseless rumors fly around online when countries are literally at war and both can pay a 17 year old 'intelligence officer' minimum wage to shitpost about their enemies to generate tens of thousands of views and a measurable impact on public opinion. Seriously why would you believe a word written on reddit regarding anything more serious than video games? Unless you're literally a professional open source sifter I guess

The pig greased bulllets thing is so stupid. The people who do it and think it's funny are so stupid. You literally have to buy into the religion that you hate and take their beliefs at face value in order to think it works. "I'm totally gonna own those muslims by adopting some of their beliefs" Oh they think it works because the muslims think it works? It's not loving garlic for a vampire or whatever, and chances are the guy getting shot doesn't give a gently caress what happened to the bullet before it killed him. According to their own beliefs it makes zero difference. It's just a dumb video to rile up other dipshits

We had a local national accidentally eat a pizza with pepperoni on it when I was in Afghanistan. He kind of frowned, closed his eyes for a while, prayed, and then shrugged and went back to normal. Which is way more chill than the reaction my vegan sister in law had when they accidentally gave her a latte with milk.

Iirc it isn’t a big deal if you don’t know A boomer I know delights in telling everyone who will listen about how the Muslims at the camps in Alberta refused to eat pork but loved bacon. I asked him if anyone had told them what kind of meat bacon was and he got grumpy because I was loving up his racist story and insisted that they knew It was probably all bullshit anyway
