For content, I added some british tobacco, enbridge, and aqn (utility) this week. All part of positioning a bit more defensively as we wait to see how the fed and international trade is impacted by everything going on. Definitely not trying to hit any homeruns at the moment. Just trying to avoid losing much to inflation.

Not a bad idea as the past week suggests there might be an awful lot of countries that will be seriously looking into ways to reduce their reliance on energy imports.

I have a fairly large position in Altus Power as a long-term hold. Focused on long term solar contracts with large companies and municipalities. Founders are credit investment bankers. Backed by CBRE and Blackrock. CBRE and Blackrock have a ton of managed CRE to push their way.

It really looks like she's doing tax poo poo with the LLC she formed. She leases a Tesla through the LLC, and her water + phone + internet are not included anywhere in the expenses, so the massive check to her landlord probably includes water + internet.

She also has a really terrible understanding of money where it mentions she doesn't cash checks till they've almost expired so she doesn't spend it unnecessarily, and she pays rent up-front for the year. Her habits are like a person who's recovering from serious credit card debt, but she can justify nearly $4K per month in rent while fretting over the idea of spending an extra $100 on food. They also note her income each month varies wildly, but the low end is apparently ~$12,000 which means she's saving > 7 grand even in her lean months, but her fat months are 120K. Anyone sensible would look at a month where they saved up a hundred thousand dollars as a good excuse to spend $500 on a nice night with friends.

I know the answer is "she's not spending $43 a month on utilities" but even if her expenses were normal, it still seems she's saving money like a smart ball player or porn star - expecting to be unable to work in a few years.

Ukranian war bonds sounds cool, I think people are just sending trainloads of weapons into the ether right now, financing the resistance will come later when some kind of front develops

if there's one thing's SOFI is good at doing, it's totally missing its original goals and grifting for the the execs

from the original investor pitch:
https://s27.q4cdn.com/749715820/files/doc_presentation/2021/Project-Lightning_PIPE-Investor-Presentation_-SoFi-FINAL-(01.06.2021)2.pdf
final slide, 2021 estimates:
stock-based comp, $117m
GAAP net income, -$238m
adjusted net revenue, $1500m

from their 8-K just now, pages 14-15, year-ended Dec. 31, 2021:
https://d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net/CIK-0001818874/6f3de9c7-c306-4e5a-b56c-89e1b246c899.pdf
stock-based comp, $239m
GAAP net income: -$484m
adjusted net revenue, $1000m

about 75% greater loss than the original pitch, huge miss on adjusted net revenue, and double the stock comp expense. almost all these despacs from 2020/2021 were just criminal pitches

but of course this quarter wasn't as bad as feared so it's getting rewarded lol
