I assume that the cartoon was about the 'death of democracy' through voter suppression and lawfare, which the black artist is responding to with a 'welcome to the party, white liberals, glad you could join us.' Which I disagree with, the break down of the rule of law in the US is both different and dangerous imo, but that's clearly a matter of debate.

The cartoon is about liberals panicking over changing norms when poo poo was never normal, we just pretended it wasn’t going on. Voter suppression has been a thing for decades, and Democrats are acting like it’s a new thing. The warning on Hypocritical Liberal Panic says that it doesn’t actually do anything, so it’s just a cartoon ragging on performative outrage.

NRVNQSR posted:I don't know what the hell that cartoon's meant to be about. Which is a shame, because Passmore's usually pretty good at getting a clear message across. Both the characters are black, and are being invited to realize that judicial inequality, voter suppression and economic disparity are things that exist, by a Big Liberal Brand that yearns for the bygone age of the Obama/Clinton years where those things did not exist. They are not impressed. E: oh there was another page

I disagree, that Pope is actually making a good point and sharply. Like I guess the covid variant metaphor to make the point is a bit topical but I don't think it detracts.Trapezium Dave posted:Brown: At the least this particular one is about actual natural disasters and people who are suffering and need help, because most times it's like "we're sorry for those middle eastern folks getting bombed... and they're sorry for us, because look at how high our gas prices are!!" It's the COVID part that ruins it for me. Apart from the fact they're all happening right now there's not much of a connection between COVID and Ukraine and Palestine and the result muddles and detracts from the message. Kellies Voting: Part 1 It begins! We have too many nominees, and too many comments about the nominees (see: Garrison), so I have to split voting into three sets. This first set goes from Worst "A Thing Happened" Cartoon up to Worst Concern Trolling. Please see the nominees and cast your votes in the Kellies thread. Voting on this set of nominees will continue until March 13. How to vote Each category has a letter or letter combo, and each cartoon has a number. Make a post with the number of each entry you're voting for and what category it's in. I'll take either the letter or the category name. You get one vote per category, and you do not have to vote in all categories. If you want to change your vote or add a vote in a category you haven't already voted in, please edit your existing post! Prizes The creator of the winning "Best Edit/Parody" and the user with the most winning nominations will both receive a forums upgrade of their choice! The first person to nominate a cartoon gets credit.

Could someone send BenGy an art book and teach him about perspective. The three at the front... Okay, a little messed up, but it works. Hillary is somehow shorter than that the CNN guy, but taller than the Soros characture, which seems to have huge legs compared to his tiny torso. Then theres the Nuclear emblem that is extremely short, yet reaching the railing. This only gets worse the more you look at it. Just like wars I guess.
