We currently have 3 that all play the same games. You need to set up your primary account on each non-primary Switch. Then your primary console can play all your games on any account, and your secondary Switch(es) can play any downloaded games so long as you are on the primary (ie the account you used to buy the games) player profile and it can talk to the internet long enough to verify no other console is playing the game.

a weird thing about this is if you get dlc for a game on cartridge, you have to have internet access to start the game. (exactly like when it checks to see if a none primary can play a game before launching.) I get why it happens, but slightly annoying if you play games on cartridge on a plane.

Speaking of Mario Kart, is there a dedicated thread for the series? If not, do you guys think it’s worthwhile if I made one?

Maybe a kart racer thread with MK being the focus like the Smash thread that’s technically a platform fighter thread.

And be sure to talk about all the Mario Karts.

I just got a Switch. I haven't had a console since the Playstation 2! I'm excited. Consoles usually only have a couple games that I can't play on the PC, but I can't justify paying $300-$500 just to play two games. The Switch has at least six Switch or console exclusive games I want to play, with more to come, so I got it, and I am very happy so far.

One quirk that I haven't figured out yet is waking the console. When it goes into sleep mode and the controllers turn off, picking up the controllers and pressing buttons makes the green lights on each one flash, but they turn back off after a couple seconds. I thought that activating the controllers would wake the Switch back up. I have to go to the console and press the power button to wake it up. Is something wrong, or is that working as intended?

That’s a good idea, although I know nothing about kart racers outside of Mario Kart.

I thought you had to press the same button at least a couple times or hold it, i forget which. I know on the pro controller you need to hold the home button specifically for about three seconds.

The controllers will also vibrate when they've connected when they wake up the console.

I’m pretty sure only holding the home button will wake the console, all the others will wake the controllers and will start searching for a console to connect too.

You’re thinking of the lock screen where you have to press the same button 3 times to get to the home menu. Different buttons make different noises too

As mentioned before I bought a switch lite today, used. Well it turns out it has a very small crack in the shell near the shoulder button.

It’s inconsequential and doesn’t affect anything but due to how my brain works I will never not see it and it will bother the poo poo out of me

So, given that, is there a goon recommended shell protector that will cover up that crack/stop it from getting worse?

Some sort of model glue or something similar would probably work.

No one mentions that the oled had a metal chassis which helps it feel better and more solid. I just hate how the back of the old switch looked after you had it for a few months and the coating in the back has worn off leaving it looking kinda greasy.

It's the home button that wakes the console. Usually just a single tap will do it with any official Nintendo controller. Sometimes I double tap and that seems to work faster

Holy poo poo same. I played so much Turtles in Time with my little brother on the SNES. We never beat it because we were little kids who were bad at video games, but it was fun!

And it even has the arcade games?! Holy poo poo the TMNT game was my jam any time I was in an arcade! Hell, we were on a Disney cruise years and years ago with my uncle's family. My brother, my cousin, and I spent pretty much the whole time in the arcade playing Ninja Turtles. My uncle would be down the hall at the casino playing the slots. Periodically he would bring us a bucket of quarters so we could keep playing. We beat that arcade game. Twice.

I don't know which of the TMNT arcade games it was. I guess the original one? This would have been early 90s.

No, you always have to press the joycons more than once, otherwise a single accidental press would wake up the console all the time, and it doesn't do that.
