i say swears online posted:Apparently 8 bit theater ended but the last comic isn't dated so I'm not sure when It was actually stopped over a decade ago, the creator went through more-or-less the main dungeon beats of FF1, worked towards a finale that actually built on the events of the comic and then ended it once that arc concluded. I'm not going to ruin fond teenage memories by rereading the thing but that's a much more noble sendoff than running for another decade, so I'll always regard it well. e: IIRC he also went on to write for print comics. Was a member here back in the day, though I can't remember his name.

brian clevinger, who did 8bit theater, ended up doing comics stuff for the big two and also has his own comic series called Atomic Robo that’s pretty good, sort of a hellboy or Men in Black style adventure series about a robot dude dealing with a bunch of mad science bullshit.
