Lol just clowned on Mohg, Lord of Blood and killed him before he could even get to his 2nd phase.

On that note, is there any way to actually avoid getting a ring around you that causes him to drain blood from you?

Not that I'm aware of, which makes me feel like doing a hitless all remembrances run may be genuinely impossible outside of the glitch that lets you get in there without activating his AI so you just get a free kill (although Mogh is 100% optional so doing people would probably just do hitless any% and skip him entirely).

It's worth noting that if you follow what Gideon tells you the capitol is likely your third area after Limgrave and Liurnia.

there's a flask drop you can get if you helped a previous npc in a fight and then went to a different chapel later on where you meet them again that removes the curse.

Invasions are rough right now. I never ran into this many gank squads in all of my Dark Souls PVP. Just a host and his 2 pals camped out at a grace while they wait for a bluecop. And they're all using either Erdtree Shield spam, rotten breath, Vyke's spear, or some form of bleed buildup. Thankfully they're all at 15 vigor and making people insane with fire lasers from my eyes is still fun or I would have given up awhile ago.

Yeah, I don't wanna whine but pvp is pretty bad. The best thing to do is use the tongue and the hunter ring and let people come to you.

Still get some of the insta-kill/proc stuff but less gimmicky.

The Dung Eater is not an Omen, but he dresses up like one because he's super hosed up and society treats Omens like they're super hosed up so he feels like he has the soul of an Omen without the body of one.

A thing that's a bit unintuitive about Caelid is the southern part is a lot easier than the northern part, but the line that separates them isn't straight. It's two different map parts so it's fairly easy to tell by looking at where the dividing line is when you only have one of them, but if you're just wandering around it's easy to accidentally head over to the harder area just by following the roads.

lmao this owns because I've been pretty much exclusively loving with the northern part since either way I've gone into Caelid has been from the north, Limgrave or Bestial Sanctum.

No.

He is wearing armor stylized to evoke the aesthetic of an Omen but he is not an Omen himself. He is doing so purely because he associates them with defilement/debasement and revelling in misery/The Curse/debasement is his entire shtick.

He does not care one iota for the Crucible adjacency of Omens, nor does his ending have anything to do with that aspect.

That's the north-south line not being horizontal though. The entry from Limgrave is the south section. Bestial Sanctum is north section. The separation between the two is pretty clear imho, it's the town of Sellia, and it requires deliberate effort to go past it. It's quicker to unlock the north section with the free teleporter to the Bestial Sanctum

The sewer entrance is hard to find. I love the capital as a zone, but I feel pretty strongly that it doesn’t direct the player too well. I cleared up to the surface all the way up to the throne and explored a lot on the way, and still had no clue where either the sewer or the east exit was supposed to be. If you want to know exactly where to look for the sewer there’s a ladder going down a well in a dark corner in the area a bit below Avenue Balcony grace

I'm still terrible at this game, but I'm having a lot of fun. It seems to scratch an itch in a way I haven't experienced since Fallout: New Vegas, where I can just pick a direction and find crazy stuff. Yesterday, I went looking for a golden seed, but took a wrong turn and stumbled across rats with crazy glowing eyes. I decided to keep going, maybe the crazy glowing rats have grazy glowing loot? Turns out they did - The Flame of Frenzy. Now, when I farm the troll near the first church, he goes down in only 3-4 shots. Good stuff.

The game is regularly insanely weird about it's level design language, there's quite a few places where the way forward is some kinda out-of-the-way little awkwardly shaped ledge where you then jump to another thin, steep ledge that in any other game would be shaped that way to discourage you from going there.

Mimic -> Torrent -> legs, in order of preference/availability. They're just the worst (though birds aren't that far off). Their teleport also does verticality, I tried shooting one down from a cav upper area and it just aggroed and teleported behind me on my floor...

I also had Placidusax AI die on me, and saw others mention it. Also a message on the floor after killing it, was "Behold, out of stamina", which suggests it's a pretty common issue with the poor fella. Way to ruin an otherwise super scenic fight.
